I have code p0573 saying brake switch A is high although brake lights are working ok, can anyone help please

Possible causes
- Faulty Brake Switch
- Brake Switch harness is open or shorted
- Brake Switch circuit poor electrical connection
help.jpg What does this mean? When is the code detected?
The P0573 codes is set when the stop light switch signal is too high.
Possible symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Stop light inoperative
- Cruise control system inoperative
P0573 Description
When the brake pedal is depressed, the stop light switch sends a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM). When the ECM receives this signal, it cancels the cruise control.

My battery died, I replaced it and now I get only Error Codes P0121 and P0573. The vehicle does not act like anything is wrong in either case...Throttle works just fine...and I don't have cruise control....

P0121 is : throttle / pedal position sensor/switch A circuit range/performance problem
P0573 is : cruise control /brake switch A circuit high
first check : there is two switch on brake pedal linkage one for brake light and the second with rubber hose for cruise control
try to push switch toward brake pedal to ajust
tps code P0121 check for wires if they are cut
hope it helps

Trouble code po483 and po573, what are they?

P0483 Cooling Fan Rationality Check Malfunction
This code is set when the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor signal fails to rise above 15 mV (~1°F) after 2.5 minutes of operation. You probably need a new ECT sensor.

P0573 Cruise Control/Brake Switch A Circuit High
This can be caused when the brake switch is set too high. Possibly a faulty brake switch.
