97 Pontiac grand am - no power to 4 underhood fuses (f/p injector, ign mod, erls, abs) i have figured out those 4 fuses are powered by a thicker pink wire not from the battery. Any insight where that pink...

Not sure about the pink wire but these fuses get their power from the fuse box itself. The fuse box is fed directly from the battery 12V hot signal by a red wire maybe your red wire has turned pink over time. That wire comes from the battery, a jumper post from the battery, the starter wire, or the back of the alternator depending on the model of the GM. i believe your Grand-Am has the fuse box powered directly from the positive post on the battery via the battery cable. The fuse box gets also gets an input from the ignition switch so that when the switch is in the on position the bus bar containing "ignition on" voltage becomes hot with battery voltage. one side of the fuse comes from this voltage bus bar and the other side of the fuse goes to the component.

No power to headlight switch

Head lights on the early models are not fused by a fuse they have a fuse link wire most of the time these things are located close to the battery ,you need to check your main hot wires to see if you have a bad connection close to the battery check the wires that come from the pos+side of battery also on some autos the hot wires are on the starter with the main hot that comes from the battery, so you will need to check there also to see if there is a bad connection.

My brand new battery is dead every morning. but a I can hear the alternator turn on. THere is a wire coming off the Hot terminal of the battery that is pulling a lot of juice. Im looking for a diagram

Large wire is possible hot wire to altenator. Should have B+ voltage at all times. Need to do an amperage draw test and start eliminating sub systems to determine root cause. Also would like to point out a new battery does not mean defective free. would load test to ensure no dead cells first.

Pull the plastic Module plug apart ,Figure out witch is the hot wire to the fan, End the ground wire ,Use a jumper wire to ground it to the body of the car Some where like a bolt going into the body or the engine some where, Take anouther jumper wire end hook it up to the hot wire on the fan .Touch it to the positive terminal on the battery to check if the fan comes on, If it doesn,t the fan motor is shot. They don,t last for ever,

I have a 1985 4.1 cad coup deville I. replaced the motor, now I'm down to the starter wiring,6 wires i know the battery goes on the large post and the purple wire goes on the small post, that leaves 4...

OK, There should not be a "Tan" wire there. It is probably the "Red" or "Orange" wire that has faded real bad and just looks tan. It goes on the same post as the large black battery cable. It should be a 10 gauge wire. The other end of that wire goes to the "BAT" terminal on the alternator. (in case you want to check and make sure) The smaller black wires should be ground wires, They will attach to the transmission housing. Usually, there is a special bolt with a stud made on the end of it and a nut that secures the wires. As you said, the purple wire goes to the small post on the starter solenoid.

Try to start my 2000 expedition turn the key to the on position everything comes on radio lights ect and go to the start posistion to turn the motor over and nothing no click just a really loud beeping

There's also a security light in the speedomter housing. of this light is on and the light flashes as the beeping sounds the key is'nt being reconized by the computer, This car is well known for started failure so the wire also breaks off the started so look at the wires on the starter to see that they are connected anfd theat they have power the big cable shouls be hot all the time ( from the battery) and the little wire should come hot as the key is turned to start. if it doesn't come hot as the key is turned jump puwer from the battery wire to the small wire and the starter shsould crank ( it can make a spark so be careful to potect yopur self and your eyes from dirt and sparks. If the starter works and the small wire is'nt coming hot as the key is turned the car might not be in park good or may start in neutral. if it does the neural start switch might be bad or the gearshift linkage is loose andf the car is'nt all the way in park.

Its not in the wire that is coming from the battery to the starter. Its in your low current wire that comes from the ignition switch to the starter. That is the wire that probably has too much resistance. Replace that wire and your problem should be over.

Fan motor does't turn on and jeep gets hot. is there a fuse 2 chg

fan comes on when a certin temp is met.check the fan motor it self by straight wiring the fan motor with the engine off. do this by finding the wires to the fan motor and stripping the wires back and connecting the wires to the battery one to hot and one to ground if the fan comes on you have a thurmstat problem.if it dont come on the fan is bad
