Error code P0123 and will not shift into OD

At first the truck would inadvertidly die< I cleaned batery conections and most grounds ,then when I started the truck it would surge which may be common since the PCM needs to reprogram the TPS and such but now I have error code P0123 and the truck will not shift into OD

IDK if you have more than one problem. Code P0123: throttle position sensor/switch a circuit high input. Plausible causes would include, TPS not mounted correctly, TPS not properly adjusted, Wiring to the TPS is damaged (ground wire touching another wire), or the TPS sensor is defective. Your symptoms could be caused by an electrical or a mechanical failure. First repair this code and see if it fixes your driveability issue. Please write back and let me know how you are making out, good luck.

SOURCE: 4L60E Shifts fine in 1st, 2nd, & 3rd but will not shift into OD

The EMC detected and problem so it's in limp mode, As long as it's in limp mode the 4th and OD will not activate. Take care not to burn up the transmission by running it hard while your in the limp mode.
Your going to have to get the truck scanned to clear any codes and why there are DTC codes. Auto Zone scan for free and most auto shops charge $10.00 to $20.00 to scan sine they want the business.
If you want to clear the codes your self you can put the ignition to the run position and pull the ECM (Batt) fuse out for 20 sec and place it back in then start the truck. It may stall but let it, just start it again and this would have cleared all the DTC code history.
The transmission should be running fine unless there is a problem and the service engine light will be on again and you'll be in limp mode still with an updated DTC in the ECM.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Sounds like a shift solenoid died. I would replace both of them. Have the codes read.

Dodge durango p0123

A P0123 code means that the computer has detected that the TPS (throttle position sensor) is reporting too high a voltage.

A code P0123 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • TPS not mounted securely
  • TPS circuit short to ground or another wire
  • Faulty TPS
  • Damaged computer
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

It wont crank like not getting power

ok sounds like you have a dead battery
1) if turns but slowly:

posible causes:
1.1) old dead batery/
or underchaged battery >check altenator in this case

did you leave your headlights turnt on and drained the battery of its charge?if so get a jump start and then run the car for 30-45 mins to rechagre the battery

if you have at your disposal anothere batery that you know has a good charge
try starting your car with that batery(not using jumper cables) hook it up!
if the slugish turn over is still there

1.2) check your wire conections for corision this means completly disconecting 1 lead at a time (only on one end of that lead)and cleaning them with a wire brush or some sand paper.
(on the battery and the starter also the ground strap conection to the frame.)

2) WONT TURN OVER AT ALL:
posible causes:
2.0) dead battery >try charging it>get a jump start
2.1) blown turnkey igntion fuse
2.2) blow fuse for main har nes wires
2.3) bad starter
2.4) corosion on wire conection (most often the batery terminals)
2.5) starter replaced and hooked up incorectly.

2.6) alram system preventing the turnkey igntion system from getting power

I have a 93 accord with the d4 blinking. i checked the solenoids and that wasnt the problem. i have to shift the gears my self and its an automatic. my batery was really low and thats when i noticed...

I am seeing this problem a lot on this board. I had same problem. Change the TCU unit under the passenger side floor board (pull up carpet and you will see it, easy to change). Got a used one from a junk yard--lot cheaper.

My jeep wont start. i turn the key no crank, full battery. any ideas. tried to jump it nothing.diconected and reconeccted the batery still nothing. car was starting perfect no problem. Checked the shifter...

Just, Because you removed the battery connections and reinstalled them
will not repair a bad battery conection. Sounds like you have a bad conection at the battery. You'll need to remove the battery ends and clean
them with, a wire brush or a battery cleaning tool. Always, remove the NEG
conection FIRST,then the POS. After cleaning install the POS FIRST,Then
the NEG. Also, I believe there is a small conector on one of the cables.
Be sure to clean that conection also.
You, did not say if the lights are working.
