I have a 2003 Buick Park Ave. Ultra. I recently replaced the alternator, battery, pulley, and belt. the volt light came on and won't go out. I had all the parts rechecked. What else could it be?

Did you check for B+ voltage at the back of alternator (heavier gage wire ) ? Did you have the vehicle checked for DTC'S -diagnostic trouble codes ? The alternator is computer controlled !
DTC P0620 -
When this DTC sets, the PCM sends a class 2 serial data message to the instrument panel (I/P) illuminating the Charge indicator lamp.
  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Start the engine.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Generator PWM parameter in the PCM data list .
Does the scan tool indicate that the Generator PWM parameter is within the specified range?
Your best bet is to take your vehicle to the DEALER or some other qualified repair . You do not have the tools or knowledge to fix this problem . Do you like spending money you didn't need too. Making auto part stores rich . Sorry ,but working at the dealer I see it all the time . Can't blame some one for trying to save money ! But they end up wasting money . Car's are not what they use to be . Computers control everything . GM sends me to school a lot to keep up with new thing's .
Pulse width modulation

Check engine light

Check engine light is the message the computer is sending meaning that there is something wrong somewhere in the system. A code reader would help you.

I have changed my alternator four times and it just went out again so this will be the fifth time. i have a new battery also. could there be a different problem causing the alternator to keep going bad?

A) check if the signal to the from pcm(computer) to micro procesor inside the rectifier is on and off if on all the times it will set a too hi output level and alternator will be damage B) from alternator to battery there is a fuse link is it still there? check c) before the electricity reach alternator from the battery first goes to the starter > is the wire from alternator to starter attached to the correct bolt at the starter solenoid ? check one of the big bolt at the starter has positive all the times and the other big bolt only at the moment you energyse the starter and send positive from solenoid to the core of starter if the alternator-starter wire is at the wrong bolt starter damage and fuse link damage is the result

All my panel lights come on. I've had it checked they say nothing is wrong but lights still come on especially the check battery but yet they can't find anything--Ideas?

Looks like your alternator is sending a bad signal to the dash, for instance if your alternator belt came off, all the lights in the dash would light up as a warning, even when the alternator send the right charge.

My 2001 Volvo XC70 is constantly sending me all kinds of messages. I take it to my Volvo guy and he checks it, everything the computer says is wrong, says the computer is going to need replacement. Can I...

all you can do to clear those codes at home is disconnect your battery then reconnect it. that will clear the codes temporarily until the computer sees the fault again

Remove alternator on 03 ford escape

2001 ford escape. I have done this three times:

Loosen lugs, and spindle nut on axle. Jack up vehicle. Remove tire. Remove brake caliper, pads, bracket, and rotor, secure caliper away from work area. Pull abs sensor connector from tire well, disconnect connector. Remove abs wire from tire well and brake bracket. Remove tie rod from spindle assembly. Remove pinch bolt form lower ball joint. remove nuts from strut bolts. To remove the spindle: 1. Separate ball joint and pull strut bolts 2. pull bolts and pull off ball joint. the second way may not work SAFELY on some vehicles. The axle is removed by two nuts on the intermediate shaft bearing. Pull out axle. Remove alternator and bracket.

Here is the tricky part: the alternator comes out through the hole where the axle was. I found that jacking the front of the motor up helps and position the alternator pulley up, two bolt holes out, fight it from there, careful not to stick the studs from the axle bearing into the case. May take a LITTLE prying. Once you get it it will just drop
