Is the fan rubbing or the pulley? Did you possibly drop a spacer that goes between the pump and the pulley? Is the old pump aluminum and the new old cast iron? It is possible that the manufacturer made the casting wrong, but I would guess this would be highly unlikely.

not if if sold on fleabay, non name pumps dont fit. also wrong pump in right box. overthe counter, got many of those. do you need the"real thing" and need to see how it all fits. you have 3 sources. , the online dealer, parts pages (lots) the FSM (buy one) or these here, free, see next link , see cooling sections. next

read page C7Pg6 see the R stamp on the impeller.? for 4.0L I6 engines. older years, can have forward pumps. this chapter covers the other engines, my guess, is wrong pump.. wrong assembley or lost parts. are you just swapping pumps, or swappng engines, CONTEXT is every thing, we are blind. also that same book shows, optional Heavy duty cooling system parts. (options) and read the warning about the clutch on 7-p28... if 5.2L engine, that is as they say a horse of a different color.

Left front abs brake locking up on dry pavement and pedal goes to floor, also making a grinding noise almost like wheel rubbing on wheel well but its not. i have new brakes and rotors put on 2 months ago...

Hi,

You may have a problem with your abs pump. When the pump malfunctions, it causes the car to do what you are experiencing.

Hope that helps.

Clutch fan making lots of noise, always the same, sounds like metallic grinding noise

could be a bad clutch fan(?) -- BUT note that the clutch fan is attached to the water pump and if I was to guess without seeing the vehicle with my own eyes -- I would say that the sound is a water pump bearing that is bad and it is time to replace the water pump.

My trailblazer is making a grinding noise where the fan goes into the motor and it is loose

the fan clutch may be bad, very common, but check the water pump also. Fan clutch failure is common, you may be ahead to replace that if the pump is bad.

I hae a 2002 VW Cabrio and the steering column is making a rubbing sound when I turn the wheel. I had my wheels checked to see if my tires were rubbing and they are not. It is definitely in the steering...

the top bearing on the column is renouned for this noise, best thing to do is spray around it with silicon.or you could spend a fortune repairing it.(i would not)

Take the wheel off the one thats grinding and find out why. You may have a heat shield that got bent and rubbing on the brake rotor.

Rubbing sound in motor when car is running. Sounds like a belt is rubbing or something is grinding as it is turning when motor runs. Any ideas?

hi from uk may i offer advice ? considering age of car and possible high milage ?? if you have not replaced the cambelt+tensioner which should be donearound 60,000 mls have it checked asap as if belt or tensioner fails you are looking at serious damage ! however this rubbing noise? may turn out to be some other fault like alternator bearing? or water pump but as you mention rubbing and especially grinding? i would suspect c/belt+tensioner ? so resist driving too far untill this noise is investigated sorry unable to provide a diagnosis as have not heard noise but hope you take advice given ?

Noise like something is hitting with the fan, but theres nothing there and the noise still going

could be fan motor making the noise, or the fan blades could be rubbing against fan housing (shroud)
