Question about 2000 GMC Jimmy
For the past week my 2000 gmc jimmy has been dying while I drive it, then will not start back up until hours later. Until the other day, now will not start up period, it turns over but will not fire. We have recently replaced: wires, plugs, rotor button, rotor cap, coil pack, fuel filter, all brand new. fuel pump is about 3 years old, we took a crank sensor module out of a good running chevy blazer and replaced it with the one in the jimmy it didn't help. Also checked the fuel pressure and my boyfriend said it was normal. We literally have no idea what else it could be, which is rare for him because he grew up working on cars.... PLEASE HELP...

Are you aware of the stall problem that is caused by a fauty ingintion switch? Contact the dealer with your VIN in hand ask them if you fall under that recall.

SOURCE: 2000 GMC Jimmy, starts up
you say fuel pressure is good, but what is it? what is the fuel pressure when it stalls out? Spec is 60-66 psi and it wont run if its 55 psi. the fuel pump relay should be good if the pump runs. Make sure the ground for the pump is good , G402 should be on left frame rail. you may have had it off to replace the pump? maybe? it may be time to stop guessing and have a repair shop diagnose it for you. You sure have replaced a lot of good parts.

Just a thought, pull the dist.cap and make sure the rotor has
no side to side play ,thinking maybe a bad upper bushing in
the dist. Also,if the EGR valve has carbon and soot built up
on the piston it will make it idle really poor ,but run ok.
Might pull the EGR and clean it with intake cleaner.
Hope this helps.
