Question about 1997 Ford Expedition
You probably have a broken or corroded wire somewhere between the steering column and the rear lights. Trace the wires from the light toward the front and check for problem areas. You may have to peel back the wire covering the tube the corrugated plastic stuff to find a bad splice. Could be a bad ground somewhere in there also.
