remove the door panel, disconnect the linkage from the outer handle and remove the 2 nuts holding it into the door. assembly is reverse of removal. You can pick up a Haynes manual at most any auto parts store that will give you step by step instructions and in most cases shows pictures. Hope this helps.

Start by getting some Replacement door Clips for your Truck. You will need them!Got a 95' Silverado also. This happens from time to time. Start at the Bottom of the Door Panel and Loosen. Remove the Screws from the Top Panel. The Panel will Probably not come all the Way off so, You will need to work under it. That Handle is just Pinned. Once you get up to it Just remove the Pin.

SOURCE: Exterior door handles
Door panel off, window up, you should be able to see the back of the handle. There should be 2 screws or nuts holding the handle on. There should also be a rod going to the handle that is held on with a clip. One end of the clip just lifts up off of the rod and then the rod should slide out of the handle.Sometimes it is a little difficult reaching in doors and doing this but just take your time and watch for sharp edges.
Once you have the door panel off you should be able to see how it all works. If you can't get to the upper clip you might be able to take the lower one loose and take the rod out with the handle.
I hope this helps and that I guided you in the right direction.
