There are 2 bulbs above the license plate, each under a plastic cover. The covers are held in with 2 screws each. Just unscrew and remove the plastic covers and you should be able to access the bulbs.

SOURCE: How do I access the area to replace the license

Not sure about this year, but you either remove the license plate, or else you get at it from the backside (inside the truck).

1. Open the hatch and stand under it.
2. Remove pull handle from the inside of the hatch (2 screws under pop panels).
3. Starting in the lower corners, gently pry the entire interior panel from the hatch,
and leave it hanging from the wiper area near the glass.
4. Grasp the bulb housing and twist to the left while pressing inward.
5. Replace with a 1156 bulb.

  • Hi, I can help.

  1. There are some plastic type screws that hold the carpet down in the trunk.
  2. They unscrew about 1/2 of a turn and then pull up the rest of the way.
  3. Now look through the little holes in the back of the trunk lid and you will see the bulbs.
  4. Just pull them out and replace.

My tag light in my 99 Ford Windstar not working even after I changed bulbs

Check the wiring to that socket. Possibly a wire broke or bad bulb socket. The license plate light is only a splice from the tail light wires, so if both or all tail lights work from the park/headlight switch, the tag light problem is right there at the rear. If you have a voltmeter or a test light, check for power to the bulb socket with the park lights on.

Where is the license plate ligt fuse on a 2002 rendezvous

It does not have a separate fuse, it is on the same fuse as your tail lights. If your tail lights are working and your tag light is not, then you will either have a bad tag light bulb or a bad wire, connection, or bulb socket.

Probably not a seperate fuse for plate light. If everything else works, check the bulb.

How to charge tag light

Vehicles: 2004 Buick LeSabre 3.8L SFI OHV 6-cylinder

From sylvania.com:
License plate light bulbs - 2 compatible tag light bulb types:
(1) 161
(2) 161LL (LL stands for "Long Life")
SYLVANIA Long Life miniature bulbs perform twice as long as any standard miniature bulb. Designed for durability, lower maintenance and greater safety.

These are available online, and also at every auto parts store:
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Long-Life-Incandescent-Mini-Bulb-Sylvania_5080167-P_1259_R'GRPLAMPAMS___

Since no maintenance manual covers this, do what mechanics do when maintenance manuals fail - get creative.

Unscrew or pry off the lens cover, pull out the License Plate's Type 161 bulb, and insert a new 161 or 161LL bulb, and replace the cover.

Test your installation by turning the ignition key to the "Accessory" position, which will turn on the running lights and the license plate light.

Tag light is not working. is there a fuse that will get the light turned back on?

The fuse labeled REAR PARK LP 15A in the right instrument panel fuse box powers the rear park lamps, and the tag lamps. If your rear park lamps are working then you most likely need to replace the tag lamps (bulbs). Use the following procedure to replace the lamps.

To Remove:
  1. Remove the two mounting screws from the license plate lamp.
  2. Remove the license plate lamp from the rear bumper fascia.
  3. Remove the license plate lamp socket by turning it counterclockwise.
To Install:
  1. Install the license plate lamp socket by turning it clockwise.
  2. Position the license plate lamp to the rear bumper fascia.
  3. Install the license plate lamp mounting screws.

Rear lisense plate lights not working

check the bulbs, it takes a standard interior light "peanut" bulb. usually fits sidemarkers, and tag lights.

hope this is some assistance. please rate well!

the wiring for that directly coinsides with the tail lamps. if a bulb isnt the issue, the wiring may be cut, or bad sockets. check for voltage with a cheap voltmeter. i know how much of a hassle it is to be pulled over for such a DUMB reason like tag lights...lol, its happened to me!

Tag light is not working on 2002 Lexus GS300

I'm guessing you are referring to the license plate light. There are two bulbs. Pretty rare for both to go out at the same time. It could be the fuse. You can check if the fuse location by looking at your owners manual.

I think the license plate bulb is W5W LL. (Check to make sure). You can find the bulb a your local auto store, Walmart, Target, etc....

1996 ford explorer license plate fuse

I'm not to sure what one you did want license plate light or the tag light up high above your back door. I know I am reading license plate so I will say the fuse needs to be replaced. plate lamps need 2 light bulbs and the fuse box is under the steering wheel or under the hood there are 2.
in my book it said that it is a (194 trade number), I woulds change out bulbs and then fuse.
