Window motors are permanent magnet style they use to wires that reverse polarity to move in both directions. so remove passenger switch it should have four wires 2 are for the motor and the other 2 is battery positive and battery negative test these wires first. we know the motor works so the only other problem would be the switch it self. most common failure is where the wires enter the door in between the hinges in that loom they break..

try taking apart and cleanig all contacts first. make sure you are getting power to switch. Sounds more switches are going bad. They usually last about 5 to 7 years before they start going out.

SOURCE: My drivers side electric window won't work

Hi Hawkeye1973

The first thing you should do is swap the passenger switch in place of the drivers switch and then see if the window now works. If so then you need a new drivers side switch. It may be clicking but it may not be working.

If it still doesn't work then you need to get your hands on a volt meter and get back to me.

TULL FAMILY
You need to remove the drivers door panel and investigate the window mechanism, it sounds asthough its sticking.

Very best regards

Geordie

I had the same problem alot with a 95 Windstar. you need to replace some relays in the fuse panel under the dash. it should be labeled on the cover. unfortunately i've since sold the van... but i believe you need to replace the one touch down relay.

2008 Colorado passenger window will go up and down with drivers control switch, but not using passenger side switch. Replaced switch on passenger side with no changes...

Lockout Switch Feature
The window lockout switch, when closed, provides power to the passenger door switches enabling normal window operation and when the lockout switch is open, power is cut to the passenger door switches disabling window operation. Normal window operation is still available from the driver master control.

Driver window switches do not operate windows

Which assembly did you change?. It's could be the passenger switch as feed from drivers side not getting being registered. Look for remote connector on assembly and put live feed on it to test. Should isolate problem.
