2001 Durango 4.7l. No compression on all 4 cylinders on ONE side. Decent compression on all 4 other side. Ideas?

That is an overhead cam engine - a separate cam on each cylinder head. Remove the valve cover on the side with no compression and see if the cam is turning.

Misfire on Cylinder 3 swapped plugs between 3 and 4 on Pontiak Aztek 2003. Misfire remained on cylinder 3. Swapped ignition coil 3 and 6 with ignition coil 1 and 4 misfire still on cylinder 3

Try a new plug wire on cyl 3 if that doesn't fix it you could have a bad valve or compression problem on cyl 3 Try doing a compression test also If it has injectors for each cylinder you could have a bad injector for cylinder number 3

05 chevy malibu won't accelrate

Check compression. If its a 4 cylinder that's fairly easy with a compression gauge. All 4 cylinders should be around 180-190 psi. If all 4 are low suspect a jumped timing chain.

I hav 2000 grand marqius ls - When I changed spark plog thei found engine oil on it particularly cylinder No. 3 and 4 that the car was Shaking before I change the spark

When you get oil into the cylinders that are side by side, you may have a bad head gasket or bad stem seals on the valves. When all 4 cylinders on that side of the engine are oil-covered you can have additional problems like bad piston rings.

You should have a compression test to determine what the condition of the rings is before removing a head. If the compression is good, a good mechanic may be able to change the Valve seals without a complete teardown. If not, the problem must be fixed by pulling the bad head.

My truck f 350 It's having trouble starting and wen It's starts blows a lot of black smoke It's giving me a diagnostic that says It's cylinder 4 injector circuit low

Most likely you have the #4 injector sticking open letting fuel drain into the cylinder when not running and causing a possible hydralock situation. An engine cannot compress fuel. If its not fixed soon you could end up having a bent rod. The #4 injector is the second one from the front on the drivers side.

I have a 93 eqlips 2.0 non turbo and i did a comprssion test on my car and this is what it reads 3 and 4 cylinder reads 120psi and the 1and 2 cylinder reads 180psi what does that mean. help pleasew

Hard to say really, but the two cylinders with low compression are side by side, and I would have to guess that a head gasket may be the culprit.

I think its a dead cylinder

It sounds like you have a valve that may have dropped and is hitting the piston. It may be best if you remove the head and see what is going on. You may see the problem before you even get the head off.

You could also do a compression test to see if you have low compression on one or more cylinders.

Please post your progress

Thanks,

Tim

Cylinder 4 misfire: lacks compression

the things that would cause lack of compression are:
  • bad headgasket
  • damaged piston rings
  • valves not sealing- could be exessive carbon build up, bad valve spring, bent valve
