I have 2000 ford ranger four wheel drive 3.0 and the speedometer is not work and codes po500 vehicle sensor where is it located

Your "Vehicle Speed Sensor" refers to two systems. In your situation it is your transmission mounted speed sensor. It is externally mounted and easy to replace. The other system is known as your "ABS sensors. They are located behind both front rotors and the rear one is on the drive-axle. But I don't think we need to get into that. If I can be anymore help, let me know, good luck.

Where is the vehicle speed sensor located???

I have a '97 Plymouth Voyager 3.0L with 31te auto trans. The vehicle speed sensor is on the lower back side of the engine/trans housing. It's best if you have a lift or jack up the passenger side front tire. When you get under the engine, you should see it through the undercarriage and mid to passenger side of the vehicle on or near the trans-axle housing. Hope that helps.

My speedometer started intermittently going erratic and at the same time my car would run rough. Finally, the check engine light code PO500 surfaced. Replaced the vehicle speed sensor and it fixed the issue. I could not find the location of the vehicle speed sensor online or in my repair manual, so I thought I would post this to help those that needed to know after I found out. Good luck!

I have 1998 Nissan Frontier with an engine light on. I paid a mechanic to put in a speed sensor and the light came back on the day after he put in the new part. The codes before he worked on the truck were...

the PO 325 code is for VSS vichicle speed sensor and PO500 is for a knock sensor,so you will need to see what the new code is to be able to help you, the engine power manegment is controled by both get it scanned by autozone or the mechanic that did the work and see if it's the same code, if it is you may have a short or an ecm going bad. let us know what codes you find.
