Check brake light connectors for green residue if so spray with WD40 to clean. Also change bulbs even though they look ok they could still be knackered.

SOURCE: how to change tail light brake switch on 1994 toyota corrolla

Normally this is caused by a problem with the brake light switch. If you don't take care of this soon you will have a dead battery, so try this. Look under the dash at the brake pedal. There will be a switch mounted on the backside of the pedal/arm that has a push button switch inside. Have someone stand behind the car and check to see if the brake lights go off when you pull the brake pedal away from the switch toward the driver's seat. If they do, then you need to turn the outer housing of the switch a little bit to make it pull away from the brake pedal when the pedal is in its resting position.

Sorry, I can't remember which way to tell you to turn it but a few turns should be all that it takes. If that doesn't work then you may need to replace the switch but they rarely fail.

If it's not your fuel filter plugged , or fuel pump malfunction, then it is probably your Mass air flow sensor, or your coil pack etc. You'll have to see if you have spark or fuel first. One of them is missing.

Probably the timing chain has jumped a cog. Aim a timing light at the timing mark and ensure that it stays in one place when idling. If it jumps around erratically the timing chain has jumped. If not that it could be the fuel filter, plugs and or wires, etc.

I HAVE A 1984 CHEVY PICKUP THE BRAKE LIGHTS DONT WORK REPLACED BRAKE SWITHCH STILL DONT WORK. I JUMPED A WIRE FROM ONE CONNECTION TOO THE OTHER AND BRAKE LIGHTS LIGHT UP? TESTED OLD AND NEW SWITCH .

If you make the jump with a wire at the switch and the brake lights work your new and old switch are not adjusted right on the brake peddle arm. make sure when you move the brake peddle that the switch is moving right to make/break the switch.

My brake lights wont work but my blinkers work and the backup lights also work what could the reason why my brake lights wont work?

check fuses for brake system.also check brake switch under dash behind brake pedal. disconnect plug from brake switch and use a jumper wire to jump across plug to activate brake lights. if your brake lights come on remove switch and install new switch. hope this will help.

1996 nissan pickup brake lights don't come on. worked yesterday. fuse is good.

If the turn signals work properly check the brake light switch. It is either up under the dash with a little lever resting on the brake pedal or on one of the lines or on the master cylinder under the hood. They have a two wire terminal. Pull the terminal off the switch and jump the two wires with a paperclip or any handy jumper. If the brake lights come on it is the switch. If it is bad, buy a new one. This is not a good part to get from a junkyard.

94 BMW 325i My Brake lights don't work. ALL the other lights work. I checked the fuse. its ok. I do have water leak inside from Convertible top when it rains.

Hmmm check the brake light switch at the brake pedal.

Water leak huh? check the wiring in that area for the lights, and have the sockets checked out.

No voltage to the socket when brak applied? tracr wires back till you find the break or short thats not allowing the power to flow to the bulbs
