It seems that something was burned out trying to make the starter turn. The problem could be the starter and/or the solenoid.

Go to youtube and enter, "how to check a starter" you may have to remove it to check it. I could tell you how. But it is better if you see how it's done for yourself. Also check the fuses.

SOURCE: cannot start changing pugs and wires

Sounds like you have the firing order right but your off on the #1 on the distributer. Every time you get an explosion coming from the carb its misfiring. Find the #1 on dist and continue with firing order

I'm assuming it won't start now with the new battery..
they do sometimes flood, but not usually unless there's a regulator problem, etc..
but try starting fluid into intake 1st.
If it starts and runs, then proceed..
You'll have to start by checking if the fuel pump is running with key to ON 1st and foremost.
the power to pump.
If so, then check for fuel pressure
then power to spark/coil, etc..
then spark
then other..
even Temp sensor switch...(check wiring diagram in Haynes repair manual)
too much to check from there on if no start still

I'm not an expert, just tryin to help from much experience with Chevys

I change the engine on the car and it's bacfireing and hard to start with backfireing at all the time but it's runing it run fine

This sounds like a crossed sparkplug wire, start by making sure the firing order is correct, if theres a sparkplug wire in the wrong spot this would cause hard starting and the backfiring, so check the firing order first, i would of given you a firing order diagram but you forgot to list the year, make , model and the engine size. good luck and have a good day.

Replace the water pump and timing belt on a 2002 dodge caravan 2.4 lt. Now the engine rotates but does not start you can hear the starter spinning. What could it be?

You could have forgotten to try and crank-up the car before you bolted things back again. This would have allowed you to correct any mistake. Try and rotate the distributor (if it has one) while an assitant cranks the engine. If it does not fire up, remove the #1 spark-plug, hand turn the crank-pulley,and get it to BTDC. Replace the sparkplug, and crank up the engine again. If it does not fire, try the plug wires, and get them in proper firing-order. A shop manual such as Haynes is one of your best bets to do a job like this.

03 ford taurus wont fire ,spins over,no fire

What you do is take either and old sparkplug from the car or pull one from the car and connect one of the sparkplug wires to it. Then with an insulated set of pliers hold the sparkplug so the electrode is grounded. Then have someone crank the car over. This is best done at night so you can see if there is a spark. During the day however you should be able to here a spark. If not probably a bad coil.

Engine won't start

even if you have spark, it may not be "good spark"

Try cleaning the contacts to the coil, or replace the coil itself.

May have pinched or cut a wire by mistake during the work you have done. Check all for proper grounding as well
