Could be oxygen sensor in exhaust, if it gets a little too much rich exhaust it will come on intermittenly and go off when it dries out

SOURCE: I HAVE A 2003 GMC ENVOY LATELY THE BATTERY LIGHT

Hi amacias1 am,

This problem is either one or both of two common problems

The less expensive:
1) your battery terminals are loose and you just need to clean and tighten them.

2)your battery doesn't hold a charge anymore and it will need replacing.
More expensive

3)your alternator is bad and it is no longer charging the battery enough.

you should look into getting this looked at by a trusted mechanic, your car may turn off on you unexpectedly while youre driving if you battery cannot keep up with the demand.

Would a dead battery stop your key from turning on in a 2003 gmc envoy

Sounds like a flat battery. Just enough to power your lights but not enough to power the starter motor. Try recharging the battery.and check battery connections are good.

Service engine light on

unhook your battery for several minutes to reset the light. if it comes back on theres a problem somewhere. also advanced auto parts can hook up a scanner to tell you why it's on and they can also turn it off at the same time free of charge

The reduced engine power light has been coming on in my 2003 Envoy

1st things first, clean your throttle body with throttle body cleaner. Clean it with the battery disconnected. When finished, drive around for 5 or so miles to reset the computer. The butterfly in throttle body is probably sticking. The throttle body must be nice and shiny when finished.

2004 envoy can i use the cigarette lighter socket to keep the envoys battery charged

As long as you use a slow charg device, yes. Rapid charge devices will blow the fuse or at worst can cause a fire.

this happened to me too. turns out the battery is dead and the key is turned on Accessory. the only solution is to replace the baterry witha charged one, charge the battery, or possibly jump start it. I charged mine and it solved the problem.
