Use a noid light to check for power to the injectors on that side. Noid should flash with engine turning over, if no signal check the fuse for the injectors .If it is blown check inj wiring for short to ground. There is also a connector for the left injectors located on the harness in the back. Make sure it is connected and tight.

Have you checked the alternator output?It should read 13.65,to 14.25 volts,at the battery,with the engine running,and the head lights on,and the heater on high.If it is less than this,the alternator is bad.The engine has to have a lot of volts to run,and run correctly.The ignition system requires this.Check this and let me know what the reading is.

Try using a carburetor cleaner instead, as it has some lubricants in it's makeup that can actually help the moving parts.

Check for vacuum leaks with a can of carb cleaner engine running - when engine race up or bogs down there is a leak. Spray all around intake, vacuum hoses, brake booster, and throttle body.

I'd like to get step to step instructions on how to clean the throttle body in my 2010 Jeep Patriot

  1. Purchase "02 Sensor Safe" throttle body cleaner spray;
  2. Drive the vehicle a few miles, bringing it to full operating temperature, then park it in your driveway with the engine still running;
  3. Gain access to the throttle body, and hold your thumb on the butterfly linkage so that you can open the throttle butterfly when the engine begins to load;
  4. Begin by spraying throttle body cleaner spray on all linkages around the throttle body. If the engine begins to bog because it is aspirating throttle body cleaner, quickly open the throttle butterfly to keep the engine running.
  5. Once you have cleaned all around the throttle body, spray cleaner DIRECTLY INTO THE THROTTLE BODY, opening the throttle sufficiently to keep the engine running. It will run rough during this process but try not to let the engine stall.
  6. If the engine stalls, restart it, and continue cleaning the throttle throat until you see clean metal.
  7. Pour some fuel system cleaner into the gas tank and drive the car a little more before parking it. Try to find an excuse to accelerate hard, WIDE OPEN THROTTLE momentarily if safely possible (as when accelerating to merge into traffic on a highway).
  8. Drive back home.
  9. Done.

Enging just sputtered then quit

If you have throttle body injection (TBI), look at the spray pattern of the injector spray when someone cranks the engine over. You should see a fine mist cone pattern of the injector spray (downward) into the throttle body. If the cone pattern looks good, check for spark-maybe the ignition system has developed a fault. Post back if you need more help. What year and what size engine, 4 cylinder 2.5L, or a V-6?

How do i clean the throttle body on a 2006 montana sv6? and where is it. thanks

the throttle body is where the black round air recieving hose that goes to the throttle body which is on top of the engine, it normally has 2 medium size metal bands, 1 on each end, that tightened up or loosen. " in order to get to the throttle body, loosen the bands with a screwdriver, then remove the hose,then , you can clean the throttle body, with a throttle body spray cleaner, that you can purchase at a auto parts store.

My 93 jeep grand cherokee runs rough while in idle

Injector cleaner that goes in the tank is ****. I would take the injectors off and have them cleaned by a profesional for about $30-$40. Or you can do it yourself but it is a task.

Jeep stalls

I had the same problem... frustrating.

I picked up a repair manual at the parts store. I took off the throttle body and cleaned it with throttle body cleaner spray. I changed the Idle Air Control Valve (idle speed motor) which was very clogged. While I had the throttle body off I also changed the Map Sensor and Throttle Position Sensor. The manual will walk you through the steps. I had never done anything like this before. If I can do you so can you.
My Jeep has never run better. Good Luck
