It calls for 4.5 (4 1/2 ) quarts with a filter change too. After you change it and add the oil start the car and let it run for about 2 mins. to let everything circulate and then shut it off and check the oil again to make sure that it is still full and that there are no leaks. Hope that this helps. Have a good day !
Hello raygozza: My name is Roger and I will help you. Try adding 5 more qts. of oil. The 6.6 duromax holds 10 qts. of oil. thanks for using Fix Ya. Roger
If you added oil level before engine was warm Then when engine is warm you recheck the level Oil Expands with heat
let it cool down and then re-check if its too much drain a touch off.
Start the engine so the oil will get into the oil filter first the shut off and let stand for 5 minutes and check the dip stick once again You did change the oil filter too for 5 quarts is used with a new oil filter
Depending on what engine this is, you should drain oil, change filter, add 3.75 qts of oil, then start engine to check for leaks. Turn engine off, then check the oil fill on the dipstick. Add to proper amount generally at 4 or 4.25 qts.
the 4.3L and the 5.7L motors take 4.1 qts. of oil (without filter change).
Obviously the filter gets changed when the oil is changed, so fill the 4 qts., start the car, idle a few moments, shut down, wait a few, check the oil level, and add accordingly.
