Testimonial: "I recently changed plugs and ignition module. Engine still misfires but code comes up now for bank 1 sensor 1. I previously changed the upstream and downstream o2 sensors. Also checked wiring and for vacuum line leaks. The skip goes away when I sprayed carberator cleaner in the air box. Seems to be lacking fuel for some reason."

2005 saturn ion 3 trouble code P0300

A P0300 code indicates random, multiple misfires were detected. You eliminated the possibility of ignition system faults by replacing the ignition module, the coils, and the spark plugs (unless the replacement part(s) were no good). However you did not mention the ignition wires which are another probable cause. In addition, there could be vacuum leaks due to damaged hoses or improper routing. Consider also fuel contamination or a problem with the fuel system.

code p0300 refers to random/ multiple cylinder misfires detected===causes spark plugs---HT leads---injector/s---ignition coils---low compression ---wiring. Have fuel pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check pump, fuel pressure regulator and filter (low pressure will cause injectors to not work when they should.) ensure that there is space between HT leads as they will cross jump

1992 Saturn SL has intermittent SES light that comes on, mainly when slowing down or stopped. it's never on constantly.

Too many possible causes. It will store the code in its memory so you can go autozone and have them scan the code for free and tell you what it is. Then hop back on fixya and we will try to help.

I have a SC1 Saturn - the service engine soon light has come on - I took it to a local garage they put it on the computer and said it may need plugs and wires or sensor of some sort. This morning on my...

sounds like it could be a bad ignition module
this is what supplies spark to the spark plugs-it is very common on the s series saturns-the bolts that mount it through time stretch out and moisture gathers underneath the module which in turn causes corrosion-then starts to restrict proper spark to the plugs-if the code pulled is a cylinder misfire code(p0300,p0301,p0302,p0303,p0304)i would suggest replacing the module, plugs, wires, and the mounting bolts.
many have tried replacing just coils and usually ends up coming back or not solving problem at all.

My check engine light on my 07 saturn ion keeps coming on and gives the code p1174 and p0300 what do they mean and how do i fix

1174 is a lean code, and would have to been set first because it will not set when the 0300 is there. 0300 is a random misfire, because it read after the lean code, it was probably caused by the lean condition. 1st check for vacuum leaks from hoses or intake gaskets, you cal listen for a hissing sound, or spray carb cleaner around intake systems, a change in rpm will be noticed when spraying near a vac leak. other probable causes are the upstream 02 sensor, map sensor, or fuel delivery problems. does the vehicle idle porly, or does it miss at the top end?

My 2005 saturn ion has a p0300. i changed the ICM and it worked for a while but the same problem started again.

Generally I have found that when this code or one ending in another number (example P0304) can mean that the coil pack is bad. When I get the code that's what I usually had to replace. Here is a website that may help you out ....
