Question about 2004 Chrysler Pacifica
Ok, at first I thought it was just the starter turns out as tough as the job was switching it out, I would of been lucky if it had of just been that. ok, I could turn the car over at the starter and even at the relay but not at the key. Everything else comes on like normal operation, it just will not turn the motor over. like I said tho I can turn it over at the starter and before the alarm was triggered I could turn it over at the relay. In the past when I would enter the car the alarm would go off and I would stick the key in the ignition and it would start and all was good. Now the alarm is triggered and I can not get it to go off ( I had to pull the fuse for the horn) its almost acting like the car is not seeing the key except that everything else is working. I can put the key in and go to the relay and now Im not getting anything, but I can turn the key to the on position and bump the starter at the starter and it will turn over it just wont start and Im thinking its because of something to do with the key. Can someone please help me to make heads or tails out of this? I am fortunate that I am some what mechanically inclined but this is out of my league. So, any help or positive feed back will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
I had the same exact problem and it turned out to be the ground strap on the side motor mount located on the front passenger side of the engine under the air filter box, it fell off due to a loose bolt on connection. I reinstalled a new ground strap that goes there, connecting the engine side of the motor mount and the frame side of the motor mount and now it cranks up perfect....good luck i hope this works for you as it did me....Jeff

1999 CONCORDE: check the battery terminals probably they are not tight enough...something like that happened to me just the lights turned on and the car seemed to be dead, the battery is still ok since then. I just needed to buy new terminals.

I assume you've checked all connections from the battery and starter to make sure they are clean and tight. It is a little weird that you do not have trouble starting in neutral yet you get a clicking sound in park. My first thought would be the neutral safety switch on the transmission but you shouldn't even get a click in park if that is bad.
One possibility is the contacts in your starter have worn down and are causing too more resistance (explains the clicking). At the back of your starter is a metal cover that is held on by three tiny bolts (6mm). Disconnect the battery first! (You might have to remove the starter to get to this part) Remove this cover and pull out the plunger assembly. Underneath are two brass plates. Compare one plate to the other. If one is noticeably thinner then it could be the cause of the clicking. You will even see a round groove in the plate. You can buy the plunger and contacts from this website: http://www.nationsautoelectric.com/densoparts.html or you can opt to get a starter from your friendly auto parts store. The first picture shows the bad contact on the left. Notice the groove, the metal has become really thin there. This picture shows a pitted plunger assembly. Always good to replace it too. This picture shows all the new parts installed.

SOURCE: I went out to warm
First unhook the battery for about a half hour to reset the computer.
does that have anti-theft on it.
a remote starter ?
second either swap the relays for the starter and fuel pump or replace them outright.
when you bypass the relay to get it to crank... will it start ?
if that radio is of the anti-theft variety make sure you know the code and how to enter it
