Question about GMC Sonoma
I have a 1997 sonoma 4.3L v6 it skips real bad when going 50 mph and maintaing that speed if you give it gas or let off of the gas it runs fine i have changed plugs and wires and checked the fuel pressure and still having this problem please help

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator. Could also be that the timing jumped. But I'm leaning towards the pressure regulator. Hope that I could help. Best wishes.

Check and see if the EGR valve is leaking, to check this spray water on it at idle, if the water steams off the valve is leaking and is the source of your problem, also are you sure you hooked the new DPFE sensor up right? re-check it..

if no codes yet check and clean egr valve ,pcv valve,air filter and/ fuel pump and pressure regulator may b dropping under load

Check the fuel pressure regulator and the EGR valve, I would check the fuel pressure regulator first and go from there. Good luck and keep me posted. Not sure what the pressure should be but thinking it's 62 to 65 PSI upon start up and should drop 5 PSI when engine running, check the vacuum line to the regulator.
