can you hear the motor trying to work the window? A fairly common problem is the window regulator breaks. this is the cable operated lifting mechanism that raises the window, when it breaks you can hear the motor winding away, accompanied by a faint clunking noise as the motor tries to operate the mechanism. They are quite difficult to replace.
if you cannot hear the motor working (also assuming all your other windows do work) then either to motor is faulty or there is no power to the motor. the wiring inside the rubber boot that goes from the car to the door (by the door hinges) is prone to breaking due to the constant flexing back and fourth as the door is opened and closed. switches can also fail, you may be able to swap the drivers/passengers switches around if they are identical for testing.

Windows fog up when there is no sign of heater core leaking

you may be on inside air instead of outside air. Check to make sure you can see and hear the door open and close when you select and de-select "MAX" air. Look on passneger side floor area for an opening in the plastic plenum. You should see a door open and close and hear a change in air rush noise. You also could have a water leak due to a seam sealer skip on the rain hat. It is the air ntake under the leaf screen at the base of the windshield on the passenger side.

Try leaving the window open one inch to see if it clears the humidity build up inside the car.

1995 chevy lumina makes terible loud noise like rods knocking when started. It has oil and water in it. what could be the problem?

it could still be a rod even if its full of oil. carbon build up inside the engine can cause a knocking sound but its probably a rod. does it go away after it starts?? if it only does it while starting, it could be leaking water in a cylinder after you cut it off and the next time you're cranking it, its trying to compress the water

Sounds like a track problem. It happens sporadically because the track will occasionally align itself when the window is closed, allowing you to open the window normally but will work itself away fromthe door after you open it. You probably hear a strange noise when closing the window. The track needs repair. This will require opening the door panel to secure the track or replace it altogether.

Same problem on passenger door 92,000 miles. Dealer said he can reset the regulator inside the door by pressing button. I am looking for more information on this problem too. He estimates 1/2 hr (~$50) to do work.

You have a bad window regulator. In order to see/fix the problem you will have to remove the inner door panel.

Window

take off door panel and see if window has fallen off the track. may have to replace window motor as it is part of the window regulator is inside the motor and that maybe what is out.
