You need to get diagnostic codes. Seems your fuel/mix/ or accelerator are suffering from sensor issues.

Had the same problem. There was something loose under the fuse box on the drivers side under the hood, If I moved it, the lights on the i/p and drl lights came on and it would start

SOURCE: chevy tahoe won't turnover, power

Next time it won't start turn headlights on and see if they dim when you turn key to start, if they dim its most likely starter, if they don't dim possible starter switch, Have you tried to start it in neutral position? Try that, if it starts in neutral than its park neutral switch, if not could be starter switch, Just make sure you chk. all fuses and any relays associated with ignition first.

SOURCE: 1999 chevy lumina will not start

If you crank the engine with the headlights on and the lights do not go dim there is no current going to the starter. This could be;

  • A worn ignition switch, usually caused by a heavy bunch of keys swinging on the switch for years. Try and crank the engine whilst wiggling the key in the switch. If it cranks, that is your problem.
  • The starter solenoid might be dead, so it won't allow the starter to crank.
  • Doubtful, but a blown fuse.

Turn key lost all power

Clean and tighten battery cable connections and check battery ground, engine ground-should be a ground strap from engine to the body or frame. If this happens and you have nothing, no headlights, nothing-it's almost certainly a problem at or right off the battery.

No power to car, headlights have power, will not turnover or crank.

No battery puts out 13.6 volts static

You may get 12.9 or 13.01 if it is completely dead

You get over 14 volts running- alternator output

Turning over & cranking is the same thing

Turned over then it went dead no power at all, no lights nothing.

You possibly have a bad ground wire due to corrosion on battery cables. Remove both positive and negative cables from battery, inspect for corrosion and clean with a wire brush, then install with a corrosion block. Tighten both terminals as to leave no play. If you have any play and are able to move by hand then you will need to replace the terminals as you will not have a good connection and thus causing no power for engine starting and running.

My 2000 Nissan Maxima will not turnover at all. I tried to jump it off, cleaned the battery posts, and still nothing. The interior lights have dimmed but all the electrical components work : seats radio...

It could relate to the starter being no good in general or the alternator not being good at all either. you can have both tested at local autozones or advanced auto places. More then likely it has to do with the starter. should be an easy fix if you have any expeirience with automotives. usually comes down to three bolts and a bunch of awkward angles.

When i turn key over in ignition nothing happens

Check battery treminal's for good connection, if good connection, try getting a jump start, and go over to a parts place, where they can check your battery and an alternator test for free.

New alternator didn't charge battery. (2VDC

As the car re-started, the battery is not flat.
The voltages measured indicate a problem with either the power or ground connection in the circuit between the alternator and the battery.

You likely have a intermittent / poor ground connection somewhere in the power system.
Check battery terminals are clean and firmly attached.
Check battery cable and alternator ground connections are intact and in good order.
