1995 GMC Jimmy P0172, P0300, and P1406

Code 172 is for the fuel system being too rich on bank one.
Code 300 is for a random miss, and code 1406 is for a problem with the EGR valve or sensor.
Each component would need to be tested.

the 1406 code is your egr valve. this could cuase the other codes and the cold start problem. replace it

96 s10 with 2.2 4 cyl. got code 1406 which is egr valve pintle circuit. Would this cause rough rich idle,bogging under full throttle even in nuetral and no power. Only code that come up is 1406. Thanks...

pintle position on EGR valve is incorrect if voltages are correct on EGR connector replace EGR valve if voltage readings are wrong at connector replace ECM both are found on ebay for under 75 bucks

Hello, Code 1406 refers to the EGR Valve pintle position, If the wiring and connector is okay then you will need a new EGR Valve, It is located on side of engine on top near the fuel lines attached with two bolts has one electrical connector

Sputter while driving and i have replaced the EGR valve . I have a new code of 1406.

Check the wiring harness for the valve. If all is well, then remove the valve and clean it, AND the lines. Some carbon probably got loose and contaminated your new EGR when you put it in.

I have a emission code 1406 for my 1996 isuzu rodeo, what part do I have to fix?

I read in car and driver that a catalitic converter takes care of about 80% of the emissions inspection. and you could get buy on it alone, even in cali.
