The only thing that would cause that would be power or electric problem. If there indeed was diesel put in it it would have run like **** and smoked badly right away after it burned the fuel from the fuel lines. Cause diesel is heavier than gas it would pump directly into the engine causing it to ran badly within a couple f minutes. So it sounds like your batter has died, My reasoning is the alt. light has not been on and the normal life of the dealer battery is 3 to 5 years so try to jump star it if it runs ok with the cables on that's your problem any Auto parts store will test it for you for free. Hope this helps.

Sounds like there is either one of two problems here. The radio has shorted out or the power wire which holds the power when off is getting a bad connection. Sounds to me like the radio is shorted out on the chip where that wire connects because on the stock stereo systems they will not work if the wire is not getting power. What you can do is take a test light and ensure that one of the wires is power on all the time as long as there is one its the stereo. If you have a manual you will be able to locate the power on all the time wire but you can do it by checking them until you find it I am sure it will be working then you will need to replace the stereo I recommend ebay or car-parts.com for thebest deal on a used stock stereo or upgrading to a new stereo with a install kit from walmart.
