It is most probably from the light itself , you need to take out and check

No reverse lights on my meriva bulbs ok fuses ok what can it be

Try the microswitch on the gear lever / gear box which should make contact and illuminate the reversing lights when reverse is engaged. It could be loose, faulty, misaligned etc
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

Have a ford focus 1.6 diesel 05,revers bulb whent. changed bulb still didnt work, looked at fuses got a multymeter on them.said thay were ok. when started engine up engine management light comes on?

Could be the switch itself that is faulty. Not sure where yours is but could either be broken or not activating (being moved) when engaging reverse. Management light may not have anything to do with it, just a coincidence so treat them as 2 different problems.

Right back-up (reverse) light not working. Bulb is good, Gauge 10A fuse changed. Still not working. How do I fix this please?

Check the:
1. Centre contact with in the bulb holder for corrosion.
2. Presence of supply voltage with a test lamp when the ignition switch is on, hand brake pulled, engine off and reverse gear engaged.
3. Ground circuit.
4. Replace bulb.

Car running starter sill stays engaged blew fuse for the side veiw mirrors and reverse lamp and problem stopped, is there maybe a relay that controls the mirrors ? or reverse lights that may be sticky and...

The problem in the starter would be the relay for the solenoid or the ignition switch that might have been stuck in the "ign" postion.

The side view mirror fuse blows might have been a faulty electrical connection on the wires leading to the side view mirror.

The reverse light, if the bulb is busted, needs only to replace. If there is a new bulb, still does not work, the reverse switch on the transmission might be broken or disconnected.

As you could see, they have connected differently.

Hope that helps you out!

Thanks for using Fixya!

1988 pathfinder no dash lights no revers lights no tail lights no gaiges

If they all stopped working at the same time then it is probably a fuse or possibly 2. Check your fuse panels in the dash and under the hood. The dash lights and gauges should be a fuse labeled instrument cluster or guages, it is probably blown. The other fuse to look for will be the tail light fuse. This is where I would begin.

My 4x4 lights will not come on when 4x4 is engaged? Do i need to change bulbs or is there another problem? How do i find out?

the bulb may be blown yes, but it may also be the switch on the transfer case which is not working or has been disconnected. You may not even be engaging 4wd if there is an issue inside the transfer case. However, most of these issues are bulbs blown or faulty switches.. you may find several switches on the transfer case, simply bridge out the TWO wires to the switch and check on the dash to see which lamp is lit, dont forget about the reversing lamp switch, go around the back of the vehicle to see if the reversing lamps are on after bridging switches.. if you bridge a switch and the 4wd lamp comes on but it still does not when you engage 4wd, suspect the switch..

Rear lights not working

Toyotas sometimes have multiple power wires coming off of the battery to fuse blocks. One of these wires may be broken. Electrical schematics are available on-line or in repair manuals. If you don't have one, go to the library and look in the repair manual section.

There is no fuse for the reverse light alone. Are the bulbs ok? If yes then you must check for power at the reverse light switch on the transmission. make sure when reverse is engaged you have power in and out of the switch. If your car is auto then probably your inhibitor swicth is faulty.
