Question about 1989 Jeep Cherokee

Jeep Cherokee 89- The enginee start but it did not run

It is not shifting at all. It was running normally suddenlly it did not shifting.
when it is cold the car run ten feet and it will not engage any more.

If the transmission fluid is full, your only option would be to remove the trans pan and change the filter. If when you check it it's not plugged up, don't bother buying a new one...your transmission needs to be rebuilt.

after replacing your ignition coil, try replacing also your high tension wires.

if this does not solve your problem, try using another battery (preferably a larger one), might as well be a weak battery

91 jeep cherokee laredo ecm fuse blows less than 10 sec after i put it in drive..replaced the fuse starts and runs normal. it idles fine can rev it up to 4k rpm with no problem just happens when shifting...


sounds like wiring harness rubing on the body some were . i would ck the harness that runs down to the transmission and make sure no wiring is laying on the exshausth

My 89 Jeep YJ manual will not go in to reverse while running


Problem is likely either a worn shift fork or bad synchro (both inside the transmission) It's unlikely that you have a clutch problem otherwise the problem would be with first and reverse and shifting other gears would also be difficult.

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Shifting Problems


Check the Trans fluid level with it running and at operating temperature. Jeep NAG1 transmissions are known to have the input electric seal leak trans fluid. Not an exspensive fix add Mopar ATF4 and then relace the guild seal.

Just pull up on the 4 wheel drive lever .. You can shift on the fly to part time and full time but you gotta stop and in park or neutral you can shift into 4 wheel lo .. I have one myself .. love those jeeps .. you "understand"

e the neutral safety switch looked at....it should start in neutral anytime you have this problem.
