Al relays are wired up the same way. wires activate the coil that closes the relay points and once that is achieved then it is direct current to what ever you have hooked up. So the wires that come --power wire --from the switch ( what ever activates the relay) will be light wires and the other wires (from the battery to the compressor) will be heavy and of a gauge capable of carrying 80-90 amps continuously. Smaller wires will work but over a period of time say 5 minutes you will notice them getting hot and eventually the insulation will break down and you will have a short and/or fire

SOURCE: I need a wiring diagram for a 1988 k2500 Scottdale 4wd four

Go to faxonautoliterature. They have the original GM service manual for your truck which will have all the wiring diagrams you need, including all options. They also have separate manuals just for wiring. I've used them before and found service to be excellent. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Used heavy duty truck.

Few things that you must take care: you have to be sure about the purpose of the vehicle; Then you should consider what all options are needed for you purpose, like, is your engine strong enough to handle the load you are planning to take up; mileage should be considered very importantly; and lastly, if you find a truck that suits you before committing yourself do take it for a good check-up by a expert truck repair and service. These are few important ones one should take care of.

1995 Buick Century 3.1. Where is the ECM relay for it please?

Do you know what a Relay is, how it works and what it is used for?

It is used for switching. A switch on the inside of the cab is operated using 12 volts at LOW amperage to electrically operate magnetic contacts in the relay and carry HIGH amps power through two heavy gauge wires to the object you just told to turn on. A relay is used to stop the switch in the cab from arcing and burning. The relay contacts are slammed together to reduce arcing and the contacts are heavy duty.

An ECM is a permanently connected computer carrying virtually no amps. There is no relay!

My 2005 WL ranger wldnt start.so we checked the glow plugs and surely they were all dead.we replaced them but they only glow when i connect a loose wire direct from battery positive and it starts normal...

The glow plugs consume a great deal of current and so this is controlled by a heavy duty relay that traditionally contains electronics that provide pre and post heat timers and might process information about air and coolant temperature and ignition state, though by 2005 some or all of these functions might be performed by the on board engine management computer, however following the thick wire from the glow plugs should lead you to the heavy duty relay that is generally mounted in the engine compartment to keep the cable runs as short as possible and to reduce the fire risk.

Once you have found the relay, with the aid of a wiring diagram you will be able to test each of the connections to it...

Some vehicles have a primary fuse box under the hood, these have heavy duty 20-60 amp spade fuses, usually located close to the battery, some supply sections of the interior fuse panel, if you pop one of these a lot of things will not work, hope ill fixya

My fan wont come on in my caravan dodge98

behind the drivers or passengers side head light in a hard place to get to, is a fan relay. its not really a fan relay, its really a transistor. these are the most common failure for this vehicle. But first unplug the fan connector and look for a burnt electrical connection, you may find that this is the problem, if so either wire around the connector or replace the pigtail on both sides. Keep in mind that this is a high amperage connection and good heavy duty wire connection have to be made, so if you don't have any heavy duty connectors and a good way to crimp them then take it to a pro. If the plug looks good and the fan relay is bad you can relocate the fan relay to the frame in a easier to get to place. But the fan relay must be bolted down tight and have dielectric grease under it to dissipate heat.
