Have you checked it ?
You can pin test the computer but you may need a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams.

I have an 06 chrysler sebring with a p0714 and a p0218 code

Transmission fluid temperature too hot. Most likely the Trans Temp Sensor. But also check your antifreeze because the trans fluid cools though the radiator. Also need to ask if you were towing a boat or trailer -- this can also cause the transmission to overwork and over heat. really important -- once the trans fluid has overheated -- regardless of the cause - you MUST change the trans fluid ASAP. Once it overheats, it loses its ability to lubricate and can lead to much worse problems.

2006 dodge dakota tranmission fluid temperature sensor intermittent

You diagnosed it.
The sensor in the transmission is faulty, or you have a wiring problem between the trans and the computer.
The sensor is telling the computer the transmission fluid is below zero or over 300 degrees when the light comes on, not what it actually is.
