THis is common Too common. As I posted before.

As I posted in the Passat questions.

The jetta may slightly differ.

Yes. If your window has fallen down and will not roll up.
99% Chance you car is suffering the Infamous VW plastic clip.

The door panel comes off With a T-10 torx or a Hex (Allen) wrench
that will fit and A large Philips Screw Driver..

Remove the Plastic cover on the inside Door handle.
And the Screw or Screw along the Bottom of the door panel.
Then remove the screws that hold the handle the the door.
They are located behind the Plastic plate you removed with a tiny screw driver earlier... Be careful not the mark up the cover whaytprying it up. It is best to pry from underneath. Where marks if made can not be seen

After the screws are out 4 I believe. The Use of a CLip tool ir best.
For getting behind the panel to pop it off. A screw driver will work.

After all the clips are released. Pull the light at the bottom of the panel down and out. Disconnect it ur push it back thought the hole it came from..

Now you need a 10mm socket, or wrench to remove the 12 bolts that hold the metal plate to the Door. Remove all the 10mm bolts, If the widow has not already fallen in the door. It should be released. By removing the Black 2" plugs. THe loosen the bolts that clamp the window the the arms. DO NOT LOOSEN THEM ALL the way, .
Disconect the all the wiring.. THe Door lock cable, can be a pain.
I think it pulls down,.
Next remove the Metal plate. that is the regulator.

reverse to install

Rear windows fall down. Power windows do not work. I can hear the motor when I push the up control but the windows don't move.

The drive mechanism is worn out or broken. Some are easy to replace, some are not. They may come as an assembly meaning you have to buy the whole drive, motor and all. Panels can be complicated to remove, and some drilling may be required to remove the old drive assembly.

My personal experience with power windows is this...after our kids grew up and moved out, we stopped having power window problems!! Good Luck!!

It sounds like the Power Window Motor is bad, if it was a wiring issue it would either work or not work, it wouldn't matter what position (up or down) the window was moving in. Replace the motor and it should work fine.

The brushes in the window motor could be gone. But short of taking the window motor apart, you won't know. If you take the switch back out that you replaced and put 12 volt power to the wires going to the window motor. If that doesn't work then the motor needs attention.

If the motor works when you apply power and ground directly to it the problem has to lie in the wiring or switch. I know you replaced the switch already but i would start with verifying that the switch is providing power and ground to the appropriate wires to the drivers window motor. You can check it at the motor first, if you don't have power there, check it at the switch. If you have power and ground at the switch but not at the window motor look for a broken wire. If you have power and ground at the window motor connector, yet the motor still doesn't work, do a voltage drop test to determine if there is excessive resistance in a connection or wire somewhere in the circuit.

How much is passanger motorized window replacement?

Depends on the type of regulator unit you have. I believe you will have to replace the whole assembly which will cost about 150 for parts

2001 Town & Country power window does not cme up

You will need to replace the motor/regulator assembly. Your local parts store should carry them or order online. These should be in stock as this is a common problem. Removing the motor bolts will be a pain since they have a rubberized nut hold them in the rear. Try a vise grip on them or if all else fails pull on the motor and pop them out. The replacement assembly uses normal nuts. Pay close attention on how the old assembly bolts up (take a picture before you remove it) since you will have to move the assembly to wrestle it out of the door. Reinstall assembly and check operation before you put door panel back on.

Back passanger window has come off track/cables. What is the best fix...the window has dropped to the bottom

you will need to replace the window regulator assembly.

this is a one piece design with the window motor, cables and rails serviced as an assembly.

you will need to remove the door panel, pull the window back up and wedge cardboard between the glass and door, remove the two bolts holding the glass to the regulator, remove the couple of bolts holding the regulator assemblt to the door, unplug window motor, and replace with new assembly.

this is not a tough repair, with basic handtools and common sense anybody can make the repair

good luck
