86 Chevy pick up c-10 with a 350 turbo transmission shifts only once and won't shift in to higher gear. Tried manually shifting and does the same only shift once

Sounds like the clutches for the direct drive drum are shot. Either have it rebuilt or replaced, but make sure whomever installs it knows how to set up the detent cable or it will burn itself up again within a few miles.

Transmission 1986 gmc vandura 2500with a 350 turbo it goes into gear but doesnt move why

the seals on the main shaft of the transmission have more than likely gone bad. when you place it in drive there is an internal fluid leak that is causing multiple gear engagements. you will need to have it rebuilt.

I have a 1985 chevy 3/4 ton with a turbo 350 that works in all gears except drive. put it in reverse, it goes backwards. put it in 2nd, it starts off in low and shifts to 2nd, and down shifts from 2nd to...

Very possible you have a internal fault in the drive gear only.I would suggest that you remove it and have it rebuilt. We have a local company that rebuilds them for around 300 dollars.

Will a turbo 350 fit into a 1990 gmc halfton that has a 700 r4 in it

It will mate to the engine, but the turbo 350 is shorter then the 700R4 and your going to loose the lower first gear ratio in the 700R4 and the OD that the Turbo 350 don't have. It can be done, but your going to have to relocate the transmission cross member and have a longer drive shaft made.

Good luck.

Theres a spring on the top of the transmission where the shifter is what is it for

that spring is for returning the shift down lever ford that year used rods for down shifting transmission when you use passing gear that rod gets pushed down once you get off pedal that spring returns rod back to place if spring is broken you transmission might stay in lower gears

I have a 94 gmc sierra with 350 that has problem shifting to 2nd

Your problem likely resides with the hydraulic valve that operates the band for second gear, or lack of hydraulic pressure in the transmission. If the actuator in the transmission that operates second gear is getting sticky, then it will cause this. A filter change and flush may help, but it's likely time to start looking for someone to tear down your transmission, or replace it.

Can't get low gear

if memmory serves me correct its been a while since last tranny rebuild and adjustment
on a 700-r4 type transmission
make sure that the shim kit was used properly with this transmission cause wrong sized length of linkage can make the trans. shift improperly
you have the linkage under neith adjusted wrong the shift bar on tranny should face 90 degrees up towards front of vehicle engine for proper adjustment
