I would put a voltmeter on it and check the charging system to make sure its not over charging or spiking. Also check all your battery connections positive and negative from battery to starter and negative from battery to engine to the frame. Make sure they are all clean and tight.

SOURCE: brake and turn signal lights stopped working on my 1996 Ford E150

You might have cut a wire or it could have broken or disconnected. Try tracing the wiring where you hooked up the trailer you may find one broken or disconnected.

I installed a new turn signal switch in the steering column, and it fixed my brake light problem. Evidentally the turn signal and brake light wires use the same plug wires. It cost about $70. I would suggest doing this.

Your brake lights go through your turn signal as well, That's what disables a brake light when you use your turn signal, In other words, When you hit your brakes, Your brake lights come on, Then when you use your turn signal, It cancels that brake light on the side that you're turning..Make sure you're getting fire to your turn signal switch and if it's coming through when you apply the brakes or use the signals..

Either the ground wire is not working or disconnected or the wiring is short.

On my 1996 f150 I have no brake lights an signal lights stopped working an my head lights keep blowing as soon as I plug them in . I re wired my pig tails on my lights an rewired my battery wires now

sounds like you may have a dead short in your headlight switch. Probably would be a good idea to replace and check wires where plug in to switch for damage.

1994 dodge dakota brake light ground location

The ground wiring on newer vehicles is a little complicated. Older cars, the ground would have been to the body around the tail-lights, but these have a ground wire in the harness and is connected to the turn-signal switch, and other sources. I don't think you have a ground problem. Does the fuse blow as soon as you press it into the fuse-block, or when you step on the brake? I believe you have a dead short somewhere, possibly a pinched turn-signal wire close to the tail-light assembly. Brake lights work through the turn-signal wires from the turn-signal switch on the steering column. That's how you can have one side blinking for turn while the other side stays on for brake. I'm kind of shooting in the dark here because I don't know what all you've done. If you replaced the turn-signal switch in the steering column, you may have pinched a wire or something there. Another thing, if the fuse doesn't blow as soon as you press it in, will both turn-signals work as long as you don't press on the brake? If you can provide a little more information, I might be able to help you more. One last thing....Have you replaced tail-light/turn-signal bulbs? If so, be sure you used the right bulb. You should only have two bulbs, one for back-up lights and one 1157-type combination for tail-lights and turn-signals. I have seen people use a single contact (1056) bulb in place of a 1157, which creates a short from brake/turn-signal back into the tail-light circuit. I do have a 1994 Dodge Dakota.

Dash and tail lights not workjng brake and turn signal on passanger side not working

The dash and tail lights are on two different circuits, and the brake and turn signals are on different circuits, so at least 4 circuits total.
I would start at the headlight switch and check for power on the first two issues.

No Tail lights. Or brake lights(when the headlights are on). HELP!!!

I think you have a bad ground at the back on both rear lights or their earth out on the same connection but these american cars use a funny system where the stop lights are the indicators and not a seperate yellow light like europeon motors ,Now these brake light switches also allow the indicators to work by shutting off the feed to the stop light so it flashes with indicators ,Why american cars use this system i dont know as its so complicated for the stop light switch function but try the ground or earth wire on the back lights and if no joy then ask a american mechanic with experiance of this sort of circuitry as when i get american cars for import i have to fit new back lights and disconnect the brake light switch .

The brake light do not work and the fuse keeps popping

Check the wiring. Using a multimeter in ohms to see where its grounding out. If the wiring is not the problem check the turn signal switch. The turn signals and brake lights are wired together when you hit the brakes and use the left or right turn signal it should cancel out by using the turn signal switch. There is also a switch that the brake pedal touches when brakes are applied check the switch to make sure its not faulty. This can also be the problem. I had a early 90's model accord had the same problem.

Let me know if i was any help

did you check to see if your signal flasher is working, if so, check to see if you have a signal light out on that side, on alot of car models if you blow a bulb, the signal will not flash on that side.
