Question about 2006 Kia Sorento
Hello, I have an 06 kia sorento, I replace the cam sensor, crank sensor and timing belt. I put it back together, but now it cranks and wont start. Can someone help?
Double check timing because they are easy to time 180 degrees gff if engine not at top dead center

did you use aftermarket crank sensor? if so that might be your problem. dealer has several different ones, by providing vin number, but there is only one after market for all optimas 01-05. try to connect thick pink wire and thick orange wire together on the ignition failure sensor. you might have the same problem as me. good luck.

Try the ignition switch,
For the Crank sensor there is a small metal disc that mounts behind the sensor if that is cracked or dammaged or installed backwards you will get same results as if it wasn't Make sure the timing marks line up on your timing belt. www.kiatechinfo.com

There is a black rubber button reset switch right next to the air box, press it sounds like the problem i had its a fuel pump reset (just in case of a wreck it kills the car) but there is a tiny ball in there and if it is rattled a little too much it will fall and you need to press the black looking button to reset it....took me like 4 months to figure it out

it is common for the oil pump to go bad after changing the timing belt.
the pump is located in the oil pan, and nothing drives it, it works as a sucking action....

i paid $1200 to do timing belt & waterpump .i could of done work myself but warranty requires licensed shop to do it to comply. if funds are low go to a shop and apply for credit. firestone, midas ect.they are rip offs but if approved a payment plan helps the pain
