SOURCE: I have a 1994 toyota tercel with a 1995 motor

If you have a '95 motor it should be a 5E-FE. The Tercels from '91-'94 had the oil burning no good 3EE. You can tell quickly if your engine has 16 valves.

SOURCE: tappet problem

the check prosidure requires you engine be cold engine at top dead center at #1 cylinder and cams timing markes aligned to markes. check only intake and exaust lifters with lobes in the released position. intake is .15-.25mm and exaust is .25-.35 mm. rotate the engine 180deg. to check the remaining cylinders. if exsesive play is exsperianced. You must remove cam shafts, and add a new shim to remove the clearence. this includes the timing chain.most engine machine shops have these shims.really suggest you go online for a sevice manule. you can ruin this engine if not performed properly. This is a zero clearence engine! (no clearence between valves and pistons.) any more questions i can help you with just send to my e mail.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGH WAY AND MY CAR A TOYOTA COROLLA 2E MOTOR JUST CUT OUT AND WOULD NOT START AT ALL AFTER THAT.THERE IS SPARK AT THE DISTRIBUTOR WHAT CAN THE PROBLEM BE PLEASE.

If it has spark then it's probably a fuel delivery problem. Not to over look the obvious but make sure you have fuel in the tank. Maybe the gauge is broken then work forward to the fuel pump. Check delivery on the output of the pump. If it a mechanical pump which I think it is remove the hose connected to the carb and feed into a container and crank to see if there is flow. If not replace fuel pump. If ok you have a carb problem. If it has a clear little round window on the side of the carburetor you should see the fuel level. Maybe the float level seat is sticking but this is highly usually. We know that the cam belt is ok because you have spark so the distributor is turning. Hope this helps.

Re-adjust the jet screw on carb turn all the way in then turn 11/4 turn then go from there in or out. Reset idle screw. Make sure all vacuum lines are all in right place.

How to adjust my toyota 4k carb installed in 2e engine?

probably the most hard question ever posted in faxya.

how to tune any carb.

google it and read for 1 full day..

endless story.

how id do it is different than you, or old school.

I have a wide band oxygen sensor i can put on any car.

and tune anything. (gas)

the jets need tuning.

here it the steps before

1: 100% clean every inch, (called "boiling out the carb") or kemdipped.

2: kitted, put in a carb kit, gaskets, and all the bits.

3: make sure choke works. turns off , on a hot engine, if not MPG WILL SUCK.

4: fuel pressure as spec. not 15psi,., better is 3.

5: float level to spec. (new carb)

6: tune it. (thats the long story.)

done many. and have cars in my barn that use carbs and motorcycles.

Where is the carbuerator on a 1993 toyota corolla?

if the engine is a 2E type, then it will have a carb directly under the aircleaner on top of the engine.there a 2 types of carb basically on this model, one is conventional type venturi, the other has a bell shaped body lying sideways. If the model is an FE or AG type engine, then it is fuel injected,no carburettor, the aircleaner will be off to one side of engine, connected by a long air duct.check engine/model ID plate usually on the rear firewall for engine code.eg:1E,2E,3AFE,4AGE etc

Suddenly my toyota corolla xe 1996 2E engine misfired. Already check the fuel filter, carb, electronic distributor, high tension cable and still the same. Also before if the engine start the rpm speed is...

It could be your mass air flow censer sometimes when the censer goes bad it sends incorrect readings to your ecu causing inaccurate fuel distribution.

Over flowing the secondary jet of my carburator.my engine is 2e toyota.

Hi Vidsha, How do you know the secondary jet is over flowing? Your carb has two chokes or venturie....You'll see both when looking from the top of the unit....Do you mean that fuel is flooding from one of these?
If so the most likely cause will be found in the float chamber of the carb and this will mean stripping it....If no-one has tampered with it before, the float level setting will most likely not have moved, which means that in all likelyhood there's dirt causing the needle not to close against the seat correctly....I think before we go further, do you want to get into disassemling the carb, or would you prefer to take it to a shop....If you decide to go ahead youl need a carburator repair kit, which will be specific to your carb....Its a lot of work and you'll need to set up the carb properly afterwards....Re adjusting it and so on....Let me know what you decide....Regards Johngee

Toyota corolla 1993 2e is jerking while running

could be lots of things
in order from most obvious to least
1.) general maintenance, like spark plugs/wires and fuel filter
2.) failing fuel pump
3.) failing sensors like MAF or TP

bottom line if you have maintained your vehicle do that first
while buying parts have the store pull codes and see what else could be wrong

any further assistance should be directed to the chat room for LIVE questions/answers
