Question about Peugeot 307

Brake light switch

I have no brake lights on my 2002 peugeot307.All fuses are working,i can't find that "brake switch" above the brake pedal.Threse is something more like a fuse but not above the brake pedal but above the clutch pedal.Maybe that is the brake switch?

Check the wiring connectors for the lights to see if they are clean and no green inside, if so spray with wd40 and reconnect.

SOURCE: Brake lights not working but centre mount is!!

the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch. the power for the left and right brake lights goes through the turn signal switch, but power for the center mount comes straight from the brake light switch. this allows the brake light to be turned of so the turn signal can operate as they use the same filimant in the bulb.

My brake interlock switch doesnt work also my brake lights don't work which fuse can I check or change? 2002 Ford Taurus SES

Hi, the switch runs on fuse 17 inside the car. If the fuse is good, the likely problem is the brake switch above the pedal. You can verify this by pulling the connectors off the switch and connecting the terminals manually with a large paper clip to turn the lights on. If that works, replace the switch.

Car brake light works with remote but not pedal

The alarm system usually uses the parking lights, not the brake lights so you'll have to test the brake light system. If your car did use the Brake lights absolutely,,, then your brake lights would be good & that would generally mean it's the fuse or the brake light switch.

I suggest that you check the fuse first with a 12 volt test light or multimeter, if it is good with current coming through, you'll need to test the brake light switch,, it's located just above the brake pedal, with the brakes applied you should be getting voltage at both terminals (my chart shows those wires as black/white) if so, then it must be the bulbs.

there are a few other options but this is the basic brake light system.

good luck.

you need to check to make sure the brake lights work, also the brake light switch is the switch not prake-brake switch, the switch is located above the brake pedal no the bracket that holds the pedal.first thing is to check all your fuses.

brake light switch fault, above the brake pedal, may have two wires or four depending on variation of model, not expensive to replace.

above the brake pedal is mounted a brake light switch. with a grounded test light, test for voltage at one wire in to the switch and when the pedal is depressed you should have another wire become live sending current to the rear bulbs.

check the brake light switch mounted to the brake pedal. You should be able to see it if you look up behind the dash from the floor.
These can go bad which is the next thing i would check after fuses, and bulbs.
Just make sure that its actually moving enough to activate if so you will have to take it off and you should be able to jump the 2 pins on the connector with a piece of wire and the brake lights would come on. If they do its the brake switch that is bad and get another from the auto parts store.
