V6 engine? If so, there is a small plastic vacuum tube that runs from the blend door actuator under the dash to a connector in the engine compartment. The tube goes thru the fire wall about 5 inches above the throttle cable (right under the heater core tubes). The tube runs about 10 inches (behind the intake manifold) to a vacuum tube that tee's off the right side of the intake.

My tube was broken....dealer and NAPA did not have a tube that small but had one that fit over it for a quick splice.

Center air vents

cant think why going at a higher rpm could change the vent setting but at a higher rpm the a/c will get to a lower temp so perhaps the vent setting knob is at fault and the vents are set to floor and not the panel. i'd investigate the vent knob operation as a first step let me know how it goes

When I excelerate my ventilation panel inside the cab starts blowing air out of the floor vent instead of blowing out of the front panel.

there is a vacuum can under the hood and if that is not hooked up or has a leak there is no vacuum reserve for the vent control valves so they go bad to a fail safe position

Hello I have a 1993 dodge dakota but for some reason only the the windshield vents work when I took my stereo out i saw some unhooked hoses? Anyone know where they belong or how to hook this back up? help...

The vent selector works on vacuum. Those hoses are vacuum lines. They would connect to the back of the vent select switch, the one that you use to select what vent you want the heat to blow out of.

The blower will not change from the upper vents to the floor vents. The blower, AC and heat all works well but cannot cet the vent source to switch from the upper vents to the floor

sounds like you lost vacuum there is a vacuum line running from engine thru firewall that supplies vacuum make sure it,s not off or broken hope this helps this is my last post on this website they do not live up to thier expectations so i will be posting @ another website in future

The air cond blows out of the floor instead of the vents

i dont know if you have checked the vacuum lines underneath the dash but my truck was doing it after i replaced the heater core and i come to find out that it was the vacuum line that comes through the fire wall that was disconnected. after i hooked it back up it started working right again.

the AC venting is crossed. If ,at one point, you had this serviced they may have taken the vent hoses off the clean them and re-connected them wrong.
Most maintainance of AC
's recommend hoses be flushed out and backflushed to keep them working proper. Or the system was changed from freon to an alternate R chemicle.
