Sounds like a fuse or two got blown! Did you disconnect the battery when replacing the alternator? If not, I think that may be the problem. If you did, I'd still check the fuses.

Hi i just had a new alternator put in my mazda 323 astina and now no power to central locking was working before the alternator was replaced???

Most likely the battery was disconnected when replacing the alternator. I would double check the wire connections on the battery to the alternator.

Lost power steering, car died, changed battery, and barley made it home. The battery has power, but when you turn the key on the dome light and other lights, radio, windows, etc don't work.

Sounds like the vehicle is not charging you may need a new alternator get the car going with jump leads again and test the voltage at the battery terminals with a DC volt meter expect 13.5-14.5 if you get less than 13.5 your alternator is bad or wiring fault also check the alternator belt is tight.

Half of my radio blacked out. What is wrong?

Does the radion still work and is fully functional other than the lights? If so it's just the bulb inside the radio and no big deal, but a pain to replace or fix.

Low voltage in a 1996 Toyota Camry

13 volts is normal.
-Turn on every thing and check to see how many volts still? If it's below 12. The alternator not produce enought power. Need new one.
-If the alternator is new, take it back to part store for testing. If it's good then follow the next step:
-Start the car to tempature.
-All accesories must be off. Voltage at battery should be between 13.8 to 14.5 volts.
If not. 100% Alternator.
If Yes. Then turn on each accesorie (One per time) and test again.

For example:
-Turn on headlight /then check.
-Turn on radion/ then check.

*This way you will be able to point to the bad component that use too much power.

Q: It's still working, why you mean it's bad...?
A: It's still working but too much resistant so it required more power to operate.

I am going to explain something rather weird and some people will even say what's the difference. In your case it would be all thwe difference in the world. A "short" in a car will cause fuses to blow. An intermittent open in a car will cause things to operate only when they gt power. You have an open. There are more things wrong with the car you just haven't noticed them. The accessory position on your key feeds several spots on your fuse panel and in some cases is even split to feed multiple spots on the fuse panel. Take a piece of wire and run it from your battery positive to your radion fuse on the radio side. Pull the radion fuse, turn on the key, and check which side of the fuse socket has power. The one that doesn't is the radio side. Pu the wire there. radio should start working now. Cut this wire. The next time your radio dies, tie this wire together to see if the radio comes back on. Start there.

Something is killing the battery, had alternator rebuilt, and wiring check for alternator/battery connection.. when driving without radion on and lights indicator stays at full point, but with lights on...

your actual battery itself could be shot it is a common problem if battery has ever died or is old. i recommend replacing the battery before any more work is done.
