Try changing the fuel pump relay. I had the same problem and it has not given me any problems since.

Ensure that your fuel pump is okay. You might need to make a change on that cos that will definately be the cause.

Your next step is to check for power and ground at the fuel pump. If there is power when you crank and the ground circuit is good than you will need to replace the fuel pump.

SOURCE: I have a 2005 Dodge Durango. When I fuel it up, the pump will click off and it spills gas back out ?

IF ANY VEHICLE WILL NOT TAKE FUEL. THE VENT TUBE IS LIKELY BLOCKED. YOU CAN FIX THIS YOUR SELF BY FINDING WHERE THE VENT TUBE OPENS AT THE TOP OF THE FILL NECK (where the flapper door is when you remove the gas cap) AND INSERTING A WIRE COAT HANGER OR OTHER STIFF WIRE. THE FARTHER THE BETTER, UP TO @ 20 INCHES. YOU WILL NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE BY OVER EXTENDING THE WIRE INTO THE TANK. ANYTHING BLOCKING THE VENT WILL PUSH INTO THE TANK & THE FILTERS WILL CATCH IT SO NO DAMAGE CAN RESULT. IT IS TYPICALLY A SPIDER/WEB. IF YOU CAN'T GET IT FROM THE TOP, IT IS EASY TO UNDO THE VENT TUBE FROM THE GAS TANK & FEED THE WIRE UP FROM THE BOTTOM. IT IS THE SMALLER OF THE 2 THAT GO DOWN INTO THE TANK. NO GAS WILL COME OUT AND A SCREW DRIVER & PLIERS ARE ALL YOU NEED. I TRY TO RECOMMEND THIS WITH LESS THAN 1/2 TANK WHICH ISN'T USUALLY A PROBLEM FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN'T FILL THEIR TANK IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES! LOL

When fueling my 2002 hyundai 350L the fuel keeps stopping as if full,I have to fill it very slow

This happens when the tank ventilation system gets clogged, or the bottom of the fuel tank is bent inward. When you fill the tank it displaces air as the fuel goes in. It acts like its full because it can't vent the air out of the tank

2001 Durango acts like the gas tank is full during filling cutting off the pump. The only way to fill tank is to pump gas really slow

Chrysler and Dodge have a fuel vapor filter that allows air out of the gas tank but filters the harmful fumes. Usually the problem happens from topping off your gas after the gas pump stops due to the automatic shut off and then putting more gas in the tank (to make the bill an even $50. or to the next $5 increment, or pumping more in just because it fits). Anyway the filter gets saturated with gas, is not able to breath, and causes a vacuum in the tank. Because of this, the anti-siphon ball is not able to float around and sits at the opening of the fuel fill tube and won't allow any more gas to be put in (acts like the car is full). If you pump super duper slow like put a nickel to hold the gas pump handle, it will trickle in without a problem, but it takes forever! Solution, get the filter replaced and don't over fill the tank.

Changed fuel filter and it has real dirty now my engine light and wrench lights come on and the truck doses run very good it acts like its starving for gas . if you pump it you can get it going and if you...

It is unusual to have a real dirty filter. Consider having your fuel tank flushed out. Chances are that the injectors got some of that dirt in it. Get a bottle of a fuel tank additive called seafoam and pour it in the tank. Drive for ten miles and see if it clears up. Generally it will. J.

Gas gauge reads empty but tank acts like it's full

I also have a 04 with a 1.8L. same problem. I took the fuel regulator off. It is a black box behind the rear tire under car. It only has 2 bolts to take off. After that there is a couple of vent hoses from the tank going to this box. Unplug them and 1 electrical connection. The electrical connection and one vent is connected to a T connection on the box that you can unplug by twisting on the T. Take that T off and look inside where you unplugged the hose on this T. There is a spring and a little plunger inside this tube. The plunger gets stuck. I took a little screw driver and some PB blaster and worked that plunger back and forth a couple dozen times and it unfroze. Put it back together gassed up just fine. I did not look but I was told regulator can be replaced for 200$. But a can of blaster is cheaper.
