you may have installed the thermostat in backwards, when it gets hot do the hoses feel like they have too much pressure?

SOURCE: my 1996 VW passat over heats. how can i fix it?

The hard hose it a sign of max pressure in the cooling system. Check that the fins in the core of the radiator are solid and not blocked. have a pressure test done on the cooling system for engine faults. Have the radiator fushed out by a radiator shop. Check that the thermostst is opening. Start cold and hold you hand on the top hose It will be cold for maybe 10 minutes and if the thermostat is working it will get warm and then hot to the touch as the unit opens and allows hot water to flow to the top tank

M11 paccar cummis over heating problem 2011 338 petebilt go up to 190 to 210 when on freeways

190 F = 87C which is 13 c below boiling point
210 F=98 C which is 2 c below boiling point
boiling point in a diesel system with a 15 lb cap will be around 110 C and a cummins will operate at that temperature as the cap setting increases the pressure in the cooling system so that he boiling point is lowered --probably the 98 C (210 F) reading
However as the truck is an income earning piece if equipment, it would not hurt to take it to a cummins shop for a service check
I would suspect the fan is slipping ( horton fan clutch) if the temperature rises on heavy pulls but on the highway , the road speed should produce enough air flow through the radiator without needing the fan

Can I put water in the radiator instead of antifreeze

Yes you can, but be aware that when it freezes, it can bust the engine and radiator.

1996 toyota hiace disel engine. it overheating I inspected the hoses, radiator, water pump, to see if any water coming out but non, expect the recovery bottle outlet hose, water comeing out of it. it run...

if the water in your radiator or reservoir is boiling means your cars engine auxilliary cooling fan is not perfectly working enough to dissipate heat inside the radiator( heat exchanger) check cooling fan if its silicone oil filled if its rotating free and no resistance then remove fan and refill silicone oil/ if its equiped with electric fan then fan motor is busted

Water bubbles and no heating new thermostat fitted

Water bubbles for a few different reasons, here are a coupleI your radiator cap is bad and no longer holding pressure; this would lower the boiling point of your coolant making boil over and bubbled or a bad head gasket and the gasses from the combustion chamber would leak in to the cooling system creating air pockets also keeping heat from blowing hot.

02PTCRUISER HEATING UP SLOWLY BUT WHEN STOPED HEATS FAST,FANS WORK ,THERMASTAT SEEMS TO WORK WATER TURNS, DOESNT HAVE ANY ANTIFREEZE IS THAT THE PROBLEM?

of course thats the problem. if you had a manual on the pt you will find that this is a pressurized system and just water without antifreeze changes the boiling point. Flush the systen and put the correct amount of antifreeze in, and replace the radiator cap with a 12-18lb cap.

Car is still overheating after new thermostat, new housing.....

bleed air out cooling system. put half antifreeze and half water .if you got too much water .it willl cause engine to over heat. antifreeze raise boiling point .220 degrees it wont boil away . water will evaporate 212 degrees.it will boil away .causing low coolant problems and over heating.
