clear the code with any scan tool, if it comes back, it real
do that yet (as we do with all DTCs on all cars?)

so dash cluster showed, C140F, right?, not a real scan tool
not autozoned? scanned.?
if not fully scanned, how would you know there are 5 more DTC's
and that be very important.
why is last, tests are next unless gue$$ is the game.
and you wonder why?

MY FSM BOOK shows.
C140F-TRANSFER CASE RANGE POSITION SENSOR ERRATIC PERFORMANCE

this is pretty clear, and the steps to test it is in the same book.

The Final Drive Control Module detects excessive voltage fluctuation on the Mode Sensor Signal circuit.

2. (T504) DRIVETRAIN 5 VOLT SUPPLY VOLTAGE ERRATIC
NOTE: This DTC sets when the Final Drive Control Module
detects excessive voltage fluctuation on the Mode Sensor Signal
circuit. Perform a thorough inspection of all wiring and connectors
between the sensor and the control module.
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Transfer Case Motor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the (T504) Drivetrain 5 Volt Supply circuit.
NOTE: Voltage should be approximately 5.0 volts and steady.
Compare any slight fluctuations found to a known good circuit in
order to verify voltmeter functionality.
Is the voltage approximately 5.0 volts and steady?
Yes >> Go to 6
No >> Go to 3

got a voltmeter
no the buy a new swtich.
checked all 4 + fuses related to this?

Check engine comes on and the car will not move in Drive! The car stays on but will have no power in Drive, if you put it in L gear it will move but at 5 miles an hour. Took it in to the shop and they...

Hello
When the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that powertrain control module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

I have a dodge caravan, started up fine, ran 5 seconds then dies. Go to restart, no crank. Came back a few hours later. Started up just fine, 5 seconds later dies. No crank again. Code P1193 is the only...

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P1193 is a manufacturer specific code (not listed in SAE J2012 as a standard generic fault code). Dodge lists the code definition as "Inlet AIr Temperature (IAT) Sensor Voltage High"
This code can have an affect on how your engine runs because the engine controller uses input from this sensor to adjust fuel and timing controls.

However, the symptoms you are describing do not sound like something that an IAT sensor would cause. It sounds more like your immobilizer is shutting things down (security system "thinks" somebody is trying to steal the vehicle)

I would recommend scanning your Body Control Module (BCM) and checking for active codes for your security/imobilizer system. It would probably also be wise to scan the REST of your computer network (ABS, IPC, etc.) to check for any fault codes there or network communications faults.

Engine light has been for a week and a half on my 06 caravan......air filter is clean?.....any suggestions

You need to have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Once you know what the codes are you can narrow down the possibilities. It has nothing to do with filters or fluid levels. The computer has detected a problem with a sensor, computer controlled device or a computer monitored system. there are literally hundreds of codes and many more possibilities as to what the problem to be.

Once you know the code(s) post back and I'll be happy to help you out if I can.

Check engine light came on had it checked out (mechanic ran car through testing on computer 3 times) no problems...light cleared. Now, three days later light back on, is this a fluke or serious problem?

Hi:
The check engine light is basically telling you that your car's computer detected a fault, and usually those faults have a code that corresponds to a system or component. When your mechanic checked out your car, and cleared the code, did he tell you what the code was? You should have your car scanned again, and find out the exact code. If it was the same as the one your mechanic cleared, your car possibly has an intermittent problem, and he needs to dig deeper!

Possible vacuum leak dont know what else

i work for autozone as a tech first question did the obd2 give codes if so what are they the person representing autozone might be green ..
are you getting a single misfire of random misfire
if you are single and you did what you said then do this get a can of spray carb cleaner put the red tip in it start the car and let it idle spray the carb cleaner around the intake and all the vacum lines
if your engine rears up you have a vacum leak eather in the rubber or in the intake manifold
if you had a multi cylinder misfire change the crank sensor that will smooth the engine out
if it runs like a dog check the cam sensor if you car has one ( some use the crank sensor also as a cam sensor
make sure you disconnect the battery before doing anything (mamdatory) after your done re connect the battery and start the car wait 5 min to see if the check engine light comes back on then do another obd2 check at autozone get someone who is well schooled in ignition systems like me if you get another code let me know what the code is and i'll try to help with the explanation
