Hard steering

It is normal for a car without power steering to be difficult to turn the wheels when the car is stationary or at very low speeds. Once you are moving above say 10 mph the steering should be fairly easy.

Why can't I get power when driving.

Engine size??? total Mileage??? is it well maintained??? If it was "flooding out", you would smell gas...the newer vehicles seldom "flood out"., and if they do, there must be an ignition problem...not usually the key ignition, but the spark itself...the Daewoo's were never known for their "power", but a few had *****...how many miles are on it??? and what level of gas do you use??? low grade??? Medium??? High Octane??? a lot of things, can make a big difference...is you air filter clean???

1999 dodge cummings turbo when i drive around town no problem with truck however when im on the freeway doing 55 to 65 its seems that my truck goes into over drive to drive back and forth like down...

torque converter issue most likely. in order for the truck to go into overdrive it has to maintain a speed, typically above 35 mph before the torque converter kicks in and operates. since at highway speeds your having this issue it could be a low fluid problem and the oil is getting hot. or a pressure switch in the transmission itself has failed and is not functioning. check you fluid per your manual first cold then hot you also want to check the color of the fluid to make sure it is red without any brown tint

It is hard to pin point the problem with out seeing the vehicle in person however from what you have described it sounds like you have a ball joint or a tire rod end broken you probably notice it more as you described when you use the for wheel drive you applying alot of torque and this will cause the symptoms you are having. You should take the truck in to a front end specialty shop this is serious your steering could snap off and brake if you let it go to long.
