Why would my Jeep run/idle rough, ****, sputter while in park & when put in drive it would die several times & now won't start?

its misfiring ever do a tuneup this decade?
if it flooding it will misfire, and will stall.
and will be hard to start. if at all, until all that fuel evaporates.
the operators guide covers this, flooding
cranking + WOT,
crank with throttle wide open throttle clears most flooding.
many cars do get worse parked a long time. that is what they do.
seen spark wires go bad, and TPS go bad (really just worse)
the spark wires old love to suck up water, and then short.
which engine?
Do the tuneup then use a scan tool cranking, to see if you have DTC errors.
make sure its dont flood.
do if the spark tips are soaking in raw fuel that is flooding and the test. (for 100 years, now)

Hi, I have a 2003 jeep cherokee 2.8 crd auto that some times cut out at idling when it s in drive, it seems to be worse in reverse. When reverse out of parking it some times cut out 3 times before im...

Could be a couple of things, I would start with a fuel injector cleaning, check for low r.p.m. when the vehicle is in park should be 750-900 rpm. If it is lower that that putting the car in drive adds a load to the engine and would cause it to stall. but I would check your fuel filter and injectors.

Engine won'ts to cut off when i put in gear.

it may be a trans problem (solinoid) need to have it scanned and the real data looked at while running in reverse and drive

It started, when i put it in reverse it died. now it will not turns over and acts like it wants to start but wont. there is gas in it.

Engage the "clear flood mode" by holding the gas pedal to the floor while cranking. This cuts down on fuel delivery to clear a flooded engine. As the engine starts and runs, let up on the gas.

95 toyota 4runner running bad. can not figure it out.

Check the timing and compression of the engine. It sounds like you either have a blown head gasket or a the timing jumped.
