BCM location 2012 camaro ss

It is located behind the dash , I believe behind the radio. I have a 2010 and the models haven't changed that much. Through the years the bcm has always been located somewhere between the glove box and console by the radio. DO NOT DISCONNECT IT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE DOING. They are flashed with codes and data that are specific to that car. If you remove it without reprogramming, your car is dead in the water and only an authorized dearler can reflash it . Doing it any other way will kill it.

How do you remove and replace ingnition cylinder on 2000 camaro?

you need some special tools for this job. first remove the airbag which should be disarmed before you begin.***removing the battery cables does not disarm the airbag!*** power stored in the airbag module called the "derm" controlls the airbag deployment. actually this job should be done by a professional. next the steering wheel has to be removed with a remove the airbag coil. then you need a lockplate compressor to move the lockplate down to remove the c-clip that holds the plate onto the steering shaft. then remove the turn signal switch cancelling assy and then the chime contact with the key in the on position - i know you prob cant get it to the on position- then remove the torx screw that retains the cylinder so it can be removed. sound is. sorry. i usually have tools and parts all over when i do one of these. i recommend getting some help from someone who has done it before and has the PROPER tools to do it with. if your neighbor says he can do it with his butterknife and a hammer- dont let him near it! sometimes autozone will let you use or rent the tools if you buy the part from them. be carefull and good luck!

Ignition switch

The ignition switch or the ignition tumbler? They are two different things. The tumbler is where you put the key, and the ignition switch is bolted to the bottom of the steering column.

If you are talking about replacing the ignition switch and your truck is equipped with an airbag (in 1995 Chevy trucks had them as standard equipment) you should probably go to an expert for this question. I would take the time to visit the local dealership and just find a mechanic and speak with him for a few minutes, chances are he'd help out.

Usually with airbag situations you are suppose to unplug the battery from the system and then wait xx minutes (I've heard from 15 to 60 minutes) in order to wait for the airbag electronic system to lose power, causing potential accidental deployment.
