Why do I have rough idling and loss of power chev silverado 2004?

More that likely it needs a tune up. I replaced the spark plugs, spark plug wires and fuel filter on mine and it ran like new. The fuel filter is found under the car mounted to the frame near the drivers door, but you need a special tool to remove it.

2004 Chev Silverado 5.3 fouls spark plugs left side only

The knock sensor code is likely not the problem but the code is a side effect of the real problem. Causes could be a malfunctioning upsteam O2, a sticking fuel injector or a valve problem.

Removal of plug wires on 2000 Chev silverado

Underneath the hood is the engine. On top of the engine is a big plastic cover, cover entire top of engine.
Example: http://image.trucktrend.com/f/8511504/112_0507_02z_2005_chevrolet_silverado_ss_pickup_engine.jpg

Remove the cover by taking out the bolt/screws on the top of the cover.
Once removed the plug wires are clearly visible.
Take pictures or mark where the wire are plugged into.
One at a time!!! remove one wire and replace it with a new one.
Put it back together

How to change spark plugs in 2005 chevy silverado ?

half of the plugs will be on the left, and half on the right of the engine. You will find a cable going in between the exhaust heads, those cables go to the plugs.

Use a plug puller to reomve the caps with out damaging them,

then remove the spark plugs with a socket designed for spark plugs, then verify the proper gap on the new spark plugs

install the new plugs,

place the caps back in the same spot they came from

the caps should make a clicking noise if they seat right.

I can't find the location of the knock sensor on my 2005 chev silverado 1500 4x4 with a 5.3L engine.

Knock sensor replacement requires the removal of the intake manifold as the knock sensors are under it.
