How do you change battery cables in a 2005 kia sorento lx

If a car like yours dies while driving then I would suspect a fuel pump issue or a crank position sensor issue. Has your timing belt been replaced? that should be done at 100k miles. If the timing belt is coming apart it will throw pieces of itself onto the crank position sensor. Have someone check the fuel pressure and inspect the timing belt and crank sensor.

Do you have a check engine light blinking when this problem occurs? I assume you do because if it is missing and sputtering like you say the engine control computer would detect that and turn on the check engine light. Next step is to have the systems fault codes read through the diagnostic port under the dash in front of the driver, Autozone and others does this test for free.

2011 Ford Escape stalls while turning. Shakes when idling

The dealer has no intentions to help you,as you found out

That is all too common with dealers & unfortunately repair shop do just what the dealer did,put a scan tool on the vehicle, no codes, off you go

That is not how you diagnose a car
You listen to the customer & then keep the vehicle
a few days & drive it at least 20 miles or more to have the
issues return, then go back to the shop & find & resolve them

They most likely never drive it at all or very far or took the scanner
along to record data

Dealer have for over 70 years told customers they never heard of
things. If you went into the service bay & asked a couple of techs
I bet they have heard of many problems

Keep in mind your drive a Mazada Powertrain not a Ford, they own
about 20% of mazda for the last 30 plus years

If you bought it at that dealer, tell them you want to keep it,after they
fix it for free.

Sounds like idle control or steering sensor issues

What is all needed for a tune up on a 1995 volvo 960

I usually service Ford family Brands and will try to assist you. Back in 1995 there was a change to longer service life sparkplugs and the elimination of Distributors with Crankshaft sensor firing of the plugs. It really depends on the Manufacturers' idea of when to replace sparkplugs by mileage and the various filters on the engine.

You can install plugs and filters anytime you want; just a matter of prematurely spending money on something you do not need. Air filters 12,000 miles, Sparkplugs 50,000 to 100,000 miles, Serpetine Fan Belt 40,000 to 45,000 miles, Fuel filter 25,000 to 45,000 miles.

Check with Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys for information about Manufacturers specs. Stay on an oil change interval based on your driving habits. Sometimes oil breaks down without higher miles and you need to change by date rather than by use. Clean oil for Winter starts, clean oil for Summer driving. Twice a year is adequate for low mileage. Watch your Antifreeze, it chemically changes after 3 years and loses corrosion inhibitors.

I hope at least some of my suggestions are useful to you.

I have a 2002 ford zx2 with a little over 100000 miles. I was told the only thing necessary for a tuneup would be new plugs. Is this correct?

In my world your correct

Tune-ups have been gone for 25 years,
as computers do all the tuning

Spark plugs are all that is left & they are
called preventative maintenance, as they
always were.

You can do air filter, gas filter, clean MAF Sensor
etc, but not tuning anything, just restoring things

I have a 2007 GMC 1500 5.3 V8. Once I got 45,000

ever tuned it up? sounds like its due. plugs, wires, fuel filter (if equipped), PCV, and an intake system cleaning should restore your fuel economy to where you want it.

My 2002 jeep liberty failed the illinois Emission test !

there are many items that will cause your truck not to be clean
when you spark get weak it will not burn all the fuel and not set a code so a good ign tune up pluga and plug wires and related parts and a good injector cleaner. then you need to take it out for a long drive to clean out the system. i have seen many cars not pass just because of alot of idle time.
you didnt say how many miles are on this jeep or how long since a tune up?
later paul
