Have you replaced the fuel filter recently? when those et clogged it can cause similar issues. May be time for a tune up with plugs/wires/air fliter.

SOURCE: engine boggs and stalls when accelerator is hit

Hello! Just a quickie, I'm in the U.K. and have come across this problem on many European Vehicles newish or old.
Catalytic Converter's possibly collapsed or blocked, try removing it for a very noisy test, if it solves the problem either replace or clear the obstruction (This may be a violation of emmision laws) Who knows??
Good luck!

SOURCE: stalling at lights

This is most common with Gm cars your torque converter switch is sticking.and keeping your torque converter applied . you can unplug the converter and try it.its a square plug on the front of your transmission.just unplug it and drive the car it turns the torque converter off. but you should have it repaired for it may cause your check engine light to come on phil

SOURCE: ENGINE STALLS WHEN I STEP ON GAS PEDAL

Sounds like your fuel pump is going bad! The more you press on the pedal the more demand is on the pump and it cant keep up cuz its junk. Try to limp it to a shop to replace it, unless u wanna do that yourself.....

SOURCE: throttle/Idle/running problem - wants to run too fast, or stall out

RPM's up and down check EGR valve and sensor. EGR valve and sensor control idle. That's why your getting the surging on rpm's and this could be giving out the other codes. If mass flow was bad car will not start and the same for the map sensor. O2 sensor measures gas and air for right mixer. TPS controls 0-60 speed as in throttle respons.

88 f150 351w forever to start and when it does it runs real rough until I hold gas down for a minute then idle rough but will start right back up unless it sits awhile doesnt want to start back up

There are several possibilities for this problem. A "cold start" sequence is suppose to activate based on water temperature and the signal from the water temperature sensor. This makes the fuel rich and adjusts timing to make the engine run better when cold. It works like a choke only it is electronic.

There may be 2 sensors with one making the dash gauges work and the other doing the engine controls. If not 2, then 1 sensor would do the whole job.

Another possibility is an air leak in the fuel system which makes the system bleed dry overnight. It is far less common on gas engines but happens a lot on diesels.

Some earlier Ford engines from 1984 to I don't know when they stopped on trucks, would use a step-up solenoid on the accelerator bracket that worked off water temperature. Sometimes a bad water thermostat would make the temperature controls malfunction the other way (High idle, clicking, low idle) that would stall and engine as the temperature vary.

Stalls when accelerating

Low fuel pressure, check your fuel filter, or check for a weak fuel pump. pump might run, but be too weak to hold enough pressure to run an engine at speed or under load.

I have a 2005 automatic ponatic gram when check engine flashes and my trac light is onit wont accelerate even when i push the petal down then it will just catch and go alittle faster also when i come

I am assuming you have a Pontiac Grand Am.
You would need to have someone scan the computer for trouble codes to proceed. The codes will point you in the direction of the problem but not tell you what to replace or repair.

Stalls and wont idle when cold

many automobiles behave that way on a cold start, so you don't have to worry about it. just continue to rev the engine until it is warm!
