Try replacing the adjusters if havent already and does it have the automatic adjusters on it. If not try backing off the adjusters some and see if that works.

Testimonial: "Ive just come back on here after a long hiatus. I sorted this issue long ago. The fault and outcome explained below. The linnings and drums on this vehicle were profiled, (both machined to be a perfectly matching radius) this was done due to a product update and done under warranty on the weekend. When vehicle was washed on the friday and parked for a couple of days the brake shoes/linenings would become stuck in the applied position when the brakes were released on the monday morning. At a 3am call out i reached under and hit the slack adjusters only lightly and it instantly released. Same on all 3 other hub assemblies. later that day with wheels and drums removed slight imperfections were made on the frictional linening's edges, Drums were swapped over left and right, wheels refitted and the problem never re-occurred."

Hello everyone, I have a DAF CF 85 and it currently consumes 76 liters/100km. What is the problem as I consider the consumption as too high (32 liter/100km according to the manual).

Get it on a high level, pro grade scan tool and check long term and short term fuel trim.

Make sure all the tires are correctly inflated, no brakes binding and drive light footed.

2009 trailblazer rear drivers side axle won't come out. c clip is out

Special Tools
  • Slide Hammer
  • Axle Remover
Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement.
  4. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor. Refer to Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement.
  5. Remove the rear axle housing cover and the gasket. Refer to Rear Axle Housing Cover and Gasket Replacement.
  6. Remove the pinion shaft locking bolt.

  7. On axles without a locking differential, remove the pinion shaft.

  8. On axles with a locking differential, remove the shaft part way. Rotate the case until the pinion shaft touches the housing.

  9. On axles with a locking differential, use a screwdriver, or a similar tool, in order to enter the differential case and rotate the C-lock?(1) until the C-lock aligns with the thrust block?(2).
  10. Push the flange of the axle shaft?(1) toward the differential.

  11. Remove the C-lock from the button end of the axle shaft.

  12. Note: When removing the axle shaft, do not rotate the shaft. Rotating the shaft will misalign the gears. Misaligning the gears will make the installing of the axle shaft difficult.
  13. Remove the axle shaft from the housing.
  14. Hope this helps?

Why is it that my Mitsubishi mighty max's rear brake grips first before the front brake?

there is a proportioning valve to the rear brakes that only allows them to operate fully under load or heavy braking. If it is faulty then full brakes will be applied to the rear which will allow them to lock up first.
Check pad/shoe condition and rear drum/shoe adjustment as well

How to adjust parking brake on a GMC Sierra 2500 HD Duramax 4wd?

The adjuster is just like on a car with drum brakes. It can be adjusted with the wheels still on the truck, but if yours is out enough that it doesn't work, an inspection is warranted. Axle seal failure is common and will soak the shoes.

Jacked both rear wheels off ground, and while slowly spinning wheel, tighten the star-wheel adjuster until you just hear and feel brake drums rubbing, then loosened slightly.
There's a plastic dust cover about 1/4" X 1" that you remove, and use a drum brake adjuster tool.

The driverside access hole is below axle, easily accessable. To tighten driver side rear parking brake, turn star-wheel adjuster down.

The passengerside access hole is found above axle, and difficult to see. Removed pass side wheel and used an inspection mirror.
To tighten passenger side rear parking brake, turn star-wheel adjuster up.

Good luck and hope this helps. Oh and the other thing to is that if you do smell axle fluid around the wheels and see oil leaking from the drum area. Then you have a axle wheel seal and or bearing gone bad too.
