All power windows not working in 1996 ford contour how do i find problem

The lights are on a different circuit than the motors. Check the fuse panel. It's a 40 amp fuse in position 21 in the fuse panel under the dash. Across the bottom of the panel are two rows of fuses. It's the third fuse from the left on the top row.
If you find the fuse blown, replace it and check the window operation. If it blows again almost immediately, then you'll need to get the car looked at by a shop, unless you are really familiar with electrical trouble-shooting, and have wiring diagrams for the car.

The electric windows no longer work. they stopped then started working again, but now they're dead. I checked the fuses. Both windows are down, we tried replacing the door window switch but that didn't...

I would scope the wires and test them for voltage. Try to find which one is bad. Did you notice if there were burned wires around the fuse housing?

1998 ford f 150 i changed window electric motor cant get window to go up or down all wires are connected

Check the fuse box located underneath the drivers side steering wheel. Flip the fuse box lid cover off and on the other side is a diagram of what fuse controls what component. Locate the fuse that controls the power windows and see if it is blown out. If it is burned out, replace it with the same number fuse

I need help finding the correct fuse for the power windows. all of the power windows stopped working at the same time, so i figured it was a fuse problem. i know where the fuse box is, but which fuse is...

this system doesnt use fuses it uses ciruit breaker for the windows, these hardly ever go bad, what does go is the wiring, remove the rubber boot in the middle of door hinges, there il bet you will find broken wires, take a look.let me know.

Window, interior lights, car alarm and fuse keep on burning out

you have a short circuit or burned out wires somewhere, could be anywhere.
Try disconnecting the alarm, taking the bulb out of the interior lights, and putting in the fuse, if it blows again you know that the alarm or interior lights are not at fault, if it stays good replace the bulb and if it blows theres your faulty circuit, if it stays good then the windows are at fault.

2001 PT Cruiser - blower and power windows stopped

I fixed the problem. A fuse had burned out. Find the Fuse Box under the hood and replace fuse #3.42a98338-d15c-4335-92e0-61a7348b3d95.jpg
The fuse that I purchased had a darker green color, which you can see on the below picture (Upper Row; If you start from the right, it will be the third fuse).
