I ave a 99 honda civic that is running slow. How can i improve its performance?

A tune up and run the correct octane gas in it. Running higher octane fuel dont help cause the computer just turnes everything down to run rite. Run sunoco or shell gas only in it. They have cleaners in them and will up the performance in your car.run 3-4 tanks of it thrue and see the differance in performance and gas milage.

Po 303 304 code 97 honda civic

You have done everything except touch on what is wrong . code p0303 refers to cylinder 3 misfire detected===causes ---engine mechanical fault---wiring---ignition/ furl system---injector---RCT/MAF sensor--ECM
code p0304 refers to cylinder 4 --misfire detected===causes -- same as po303
have a compression test done as there are two adjacent cylinders and it may be a head gasket problem

Consumes too much fuel

Are you the only driver..? Different drivers realize different MPG. You might try a fuel injection cleaner...also...try running a higher octane gas. This sounds funny...but...higher octane fuels produce better running engines/produce more horsepower...effectively requiring less fuel to do the same thing.

Octane

87 octane is what your car is built to run on. Anything higher is throwing your money away. A lot of people are under the impression that higher octane is 'good' for their car, when it does nothing but empty your wallet quicker. Of course, there are many cars requiring higher octane than your civic, they are engineered to run at peak performance and efficiency on higher octane (Acura vehicles for example). So enjoy your civic and and the $ u save on 87 octane!
