BRAKE light...open the rear hatch/door and inside the jamb should be a screw(s) to take out...also, look between the bumper and bottom of the tail light housing for a screw or two

Check the wires at the back of the harness plug for any breaks. Some times they break inside the coating, so pull on them. If they stretch, it broke.

2002 jeep liberty break lights not working

If you're not proficient with using a voltmeter and tracking automotive circuits, I would leave it to a professional. The last two years I have been on here, I've seen a significant number of Jeep rear lighting problems. A lot of it can be traced to problems in the light assemblies, some to loose or non-working sockets. It may sometimes be poorly soldered electrical connections, I don't know, but it seems almost a common problem. I hope you post back what it turns out to be. Good luck.

Usually the small plastic plate with the positions marked on it can be pried out (use a wide blade flat knife etc) there is a light bulb in there. Don't do this if cold, plastic gets brittle and can break.
