Re: my 94 jeep cherokee started ran for a minute or 2...
I would suggest checking to see if you are getting fuel by disconnecting the fuel line at the fuel rail and turn key if no fuel then its either fuel pump or fuel filter. if you get fuel then it would be the spark

Make sure all your grounds are clean and secure. I'm sending a wiring diagram to you...different year but more accurate than anything you will see in haynes etc. http://www.scribd.com/doc/18999822/Jeep-Wiring-2 take a look at it and perhaps you can get it figured out! good luck
If you have a security system, close all the doors and then lock the drivers door with the key, then unlock it. That should re-set the system. I've had the computer completely disconnected from mine several times (used it to check another vehicle) and I don't have security...it started and ran fine...only difference between the two is the security so I'd try that.
I believe the green wire is a pulse from the distributor and its a ground signal. I could be wrong since is been a while since i left the jeep dealer...I would take the coil out (2 bolts on most) and take it to autozone. They can test it in minutes for free. Either that or the ignition module but more common is coil.
